You might want to try a graphite based key lubricant, but you shouldn't have that problem. I think I would go back to the dealership.

You don't have the european modle with the H.I.S.S. system, do you? (it would be clearly marked by the key hole)

Honda Ignition Security System (H.I.S.S.)

Honda's highly capable H.I.S.S. anti-theft system features a fail-safe electronic interlock that prevents the engine from being started in any other way than using the motorcycle's two original keys. Totally disabling the engine at the very heart of its ignition system, the system cannot be bypassed by either hot-wiring the ignition or exchanging the ignition switch module, thus effectively deterring joyriders and greatly reducing the possibility of ride-away theft.

Unfortunately, this is not avalable in the states. I wish it was!

I have now learned that someone has broke a key off in there, its a bitch to remove the bolts holding the ign. switch to the triple clamp, they are tamper proof and have to be drilled out, good thing is,I have a drill press and the heads drilled off fairly easy.

Wait... Did you break the key on accident and didnt know it? If not thats amazing that the key worked when you first got and now it only went half way in.

hi mate i've had the same thing happen a couple of times in the last week with my 05 and the key was just and i do mean just bent. the key must be made from really soft metal so watch when taking the key out of the ignition or seat lock which is where i bent my key. hope this helps.
