$15k for 07 Repsol?!

so i got my bike stolen last week and i just cruised in to Corona Motorsports in SoCal...I was just checking out the 07 repsol bike, even tho i dont want a 1000 i wanted to just check out the pricing, well the guys like ya well give it to u for $15,000 OTD, i looked at em, hopped off the bike and went straight for the 600's...hahaha, i had a 05 600RR but 15,000 for the repsol when the other colors were only 10,900 OTD....wtf is wrong with these guys or is this price at all the motorsports??

Come over to TX, I will get you one for $11,500 you pay the tax when you get it home.

They are stupid, they think it comes with a flux capacitor or something.  At least they are not as stupid as this dealership who want 19k + TTT + DP + couple of quarts of blood and a urine sample.

i bought my 06 600RR from corona motorsports for 8890 OTD they where trying to get like 11k out of me i was like your crazy, i told them i wouldnt pay anything more than msrp OTD they got it down. For socal dealers i think Chaparral is the worst asking 12,999 for a 06 600RR who buys them at that price?

ya corona originally got me a 05 cbr600rr back in 2005 brand new for $8200 out the door, so i got a really good deal on that, but $15k for the repsol, the guy was like "its pretty much take it or leave it deal were gonna make all we can on it since its our last repsol of the year".....what a joke

I can't say that I blame them.  They are in the business to make money.  My local has one at 11,495.00.  IMO, after seeing it today, I wouldn't have bought it even if it was the same price as the generic colors.  I think if the frame was black I'd like it a lot better.
 
I bought my 06 red/black from the same dealer last November for 8799.00 and to top it off, mine is faster since it is lighter because it has less stickers.  Plus everyone knows Red is the fastest:)

There about 15 k out the door in texas too, I can get one for 11,500 in kansas, but I'll probably end up paying Texas taxes eventually...

Check these guys out. I intended to purchase my Repsol from them, but a friend of mine works at a dealership here in Dallas and the owner matched the deal for 2 new Repsols, saving us the trip to Mississippi.
 
From what I hear, get there early as they are a high volume, low price dealer and the amount of customers through the dealership on the weekends results in hours and hours of time spent getting through the process. Still worth it to save a couple thousand...

Way too much $. Never pay retail for anything. If you look around you can find them for less. Even if you paid retail 11,999 from another
state and had it shipped to you it would be a better deal. What's the story behind your bike getting stolen?

Here in Australia 07 sells for AUD 18.400. Any colour, even Repsol... all same price.
06 rideaway is $16.200

Can't blame the dealership, they're in business to make...get this.... PROFIT.  Repsol is a Limited Edition bike.  I'm willing to bet if you ask the owner who's going to win GP this year they won't say a Honda Factory rider....

Yes they are out to make a profit but they are stupid in trying to mark up the price when the msrp is way lower.  And other dealers are selling them at or about the msrp.  When you have a dealer marking up the price and they have that same bike sitting there because of the mark up,  whats better, to sell or to sit and wait to see what idiot will buy it at the inflated price.
 
Don't buy anything if it is inflated that high.  It only emboldens the dealer to milk more money out of you.  Dealerships should make money for selling a product that someone else manufactured but they shouldn't try to make all their money off of one customer but off of many customers.

I agree, but in theory.  An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  Look at what Ford is doing with the Shelby Mustang.  Like $87,000.
The dealership is speculating that demand will be high enough that they could get $15k for it.  I say let them try.  Personally, I'd get a leftover 06' and put Repsol bodywork on it, but that's just me.

Just bought my 06 1KRR today, and an 07 Repsol sold for just under 12K...guess they're just the hot thing out there.

I bought one last week and i paod 13000 odd in san diego...

If you find a 07 repsol for that price i would take it especially if its 2007 with zero miles... the bike cost about $13,000 with out any taxes and other junk... But if the price with out taxes is $15,000 then that might be just a little over the top.

Saw a new 07 repsol, 0 miles a few days ago for....get this....$11,900.
I can see the dealer not haggling on price on one, but anyone and I mean anyone, who pays over 11,9 for one is a big chump.
Just because it has stickers does not make it anything else. When I bought my 07, I had considered looking around for a new repsol, then I thought; I'm not paying $500 for stickers on the exact same bike! Maybe if it was different in other ways to the plain RR, but no way. And it's a magnet for "hey, I'm parked over here, come put your grubby hands all over me while the owner's not here"!
I do like them, but screw that noise.

I used to be a salesman at a dealership in AZ and they would put "market adjustments" on so called "rare" bikes like the raven black R1 they put a 2500 mark-up on it just because they were supposedly rare.  and the 600RR with the tribal flames was 1500 mark up.  I was pissed because everytime they would do that Id most likely have a custom walk out along with my comission lol.  and all of this was before title tax and prep.  I saw a guy buy one of the R1's for 18400 OTD.  I thought to myself, he is either loaded and doesnt care, or doesnt realize he was just bent over and raped by 20 guys.
