well, i got to meet the "iron ass god" today. that's right... although he lives in south florida he somehow ended up at my office in illinois. he rode to NC, up to chicago, down a ways to central IL, then gave me a call to say he was in the area so i told him to stop by. too bad i was stuck at work or else i would have taken him on some local twisties (sorry jared!). he was able to adjust/clean his chain in the parking lot behind my office though

last check his odometer read a whopping 54,xxx miles! unbelievable! i'll post pics when i get back into town. if any of you are between IL and FL... keep an eye out for a loaded up red/black f4i rollin' by... it'll probably be him

Really outside of regular maintence stuff, the bike has needed next to zero repairs! Only things I've replaced were the CCTL once I "think" somewhere around 38k, and then a set of front brake rotors (warped) around 43k or so. Other than that, it's just been front brake pads twice (EBC HH), rear brake pads once (EBC HH), front tire 3 times, rear tire 7(?) times and need a new one again now, just changed the chain tues night for the 3rd time (and sprockets of course too), and spark plugs I've changed twice and ready for a third set. I kinda missed the boat on the first and 2nd valve adjustments, took it in for the first time at 41k for a valve adjustment and all valves were still in spec

The tech also commented on that the inside of my motor was clean and spotless, unlike some he'd seen even with much lower mileage. Also had the fork oil changed for the first time, throttle bodies sync'd, and coolant flushed and put in Engine Ice so if I do a trackday I'm ready there. I had also flushed all the brake fluid about 6 months ago or so. Oil changes every 5,000 with Mobil 1 15w-50 gold cap during the summer, and Mobil 1 MX4T 10w-40 during the winter and an OEM filter. About to turn 56,000 now and never once a single mechanical failure, never once failed to start immediately, never once run anything but absolutely perfect! Never even any charging system problems, it's been totally worry free and reliable up the ying-yang! Never done a single thing to anything in the tranny and it still shifts beautiful! Clutch and starter are both 100% stock original factory stuff... never had a problem with either and clutch still grips like it did when it was new

and then there is me :( replaced the stator and the regulator and now rotors, blah blah
anywhoot i think 99% is cuz the doosh before me never rode it and it sat nearly a year. Also when they polished the frame i think they didnt tighten a motor-mount bolt cuz this sunabeetch vibrates but it is sometimes relaxing but mostly annoying. Not enought ime in the world and tools and patience for me to go through and do it :)

Thanks bro!! And sweet bike you got as well

But yea man I LOVE this bike! It's served me sooo well, there's absolutely no way I could complain. She's gonna turn 90k tomorrow and still running like a champ! As for oil leaks, mine has zero oil leaks anywhere... still perfectly dry everywhere except where the chain slings grease on the left side. Oil pan, stator cover, and crankcase cover are all still perfectly clean and dry as a bone. Doesn't go through a drop of oil between changes (every 5k). When I travel and stay at a hotel I always park the bike inside the room on the carpet, and it's never left a stain
So yea, when it comes to reliability... hey it's a Honda, no worries! Mine has NEVER let me down, never left me stranded anywhere, never even so much as a hiccup. Gotta love 'em!! Just ride it and have fun, it'll last
