I am putting a 600RR engine in a sidecar outfit for next year's isle of Man TT.  Apparently the Motec computer is a good way to set up the engine ECU optimally, but is there another (better) way to go for mapping and optimizing performance without sacrificing reliability?  This engine will need to run the 37 Mile circuit about 40% of the time at full throttle.  Three times per race... And there are two races!  Any help/suggestions much appreciated; I'm new at this.

That depends on what modifications you have made to the engine. If it is stock, then a proper tune will deliver the same reliability as a stock 600RR. If the engine is not stock, then dyno tuning will be the best method for creating optimal fuel and ignition maps.

The engine will be stock, but the exhaust and inlets will be different to the normal bike config.  But how do I program the ECU, or which computer is the best to use to change the performance curves?
