Annoying Rattle Noise Around 5k-6-k. Anyone?

Im on a 2006 F4i. When i recently purchased the bike, I noticed a small rattling noise that comes into play around 3k, then dissapears as I accelerate into mid-range. The noise/vibration comes from directly underneath the handebar/ front gas tank area. I want to say its a loose bolt, but i have heard a couple different cases of this problem. As time passed, the rattle seemed to move from 3k to around 6k. Now its only at 6k that this vibration/rattle can be heard. Everyday is different, some worse than others. Since its not really consistent, i figure its not an internal engine problem. Has anyone experienced this or heard of any solutions? I appreciate your feedback fellas!! Anything will help!!

I am pretty sure you need new CCTL a.k.a. Cam Chain Tensioner Lifter.  Look and read this http://www.cbrforum.com/m_194038/tm.htm

hey thanks man. It looks like a need a simple bolt replacement around the CCT. Im still not 100% sure on what to do. I need to do some research i guess.
Where is the CCT located exactly? Is it easy to work on?

this is actually normal behavior for an f4i, its not a pressing deal that needs to be taken care of immeadiatly if that is what you are wondering......usually recommeneded to just take care of it at the 15 000 mile mark, which is one of the major maintainence points for the f4i........

Fully auto cct's sometimes get stuck in between auto adjustment Before you go buy a new one go up a steep road (if there are any around you )and hit the rev limiter.That usually kicks it on to the next notch and that will shut it up until it tries to auto-adjust again

Hey man ihave  an 06 f4i too brand new has 4500 miles and does same thing. its tyhe cct not a big deal do you have factory service plan thats what i did they said they will take care of it but not a big deal though common problem for f4i's

Mine has just started making the damn rattle this weekend. What a bastard.

Hey. I ride a 99 cbr600f4 and I am having this problem aswell. At 5k it starts making this annoying rattle noise >.< Anyways, good to see some ideas on how to fix it =D

Just curious, what is the price of another CCTL from honda cost? I seen a manual CCTL go for $400 from A.P.E!!! 

manuals cct's are only 50 bucks at cbr zone (dont forget the gasket)
