ok, i know this may sound a little off, but keep in mind this is my first bike. On my 87' 1000 i have 2 air valves at the top of my forks near my grips. There is a sticker on my tank that says 0-6 psi. is this for raising/lowering my bike? I have seen things like this on cars and thats what it does, but i dont want to try it and it have some kind of drastic mega perfomance malfunction (lol). any and all help would be thankful.

It's for softness or firmness. I have them on my 79 GS 1000. I bought a kit that hooked both sides together so they were even. I also have a special gauge that only read to 20psi. If you don't have one, you also need a little pump that looks like a syringe with a Schrader valve mechanism on the end. Mine was made by S&W. Don't use an air compressor.

My 86 ZX6 has them... that's the old way of adjusting the preload. The amount of travel the front suspension will have.

Why do you want to drop the front end? You could get a shorter, stiffer spring. And you can push the fork tubes higher up the triple clamp. Both will alter your steering by making it quicker, but more twitchy.

to me it just seems like the bike sits higher in the front than it does in the back. And even more so with a rider.
