Anybody else have problem with passenger head butting you while shifting or braking? My wife can't seem to keep her helmet off of mine while riding. Any ideas how to protect my helmet?

Clear vinyl decal maybe? Just a thought.

might be how she is positioned and holding you

you can get a small rubber sticker at most store's and cut it to fit on the part of her helmet that hits yours..
other then that ask her when your coming to a stop to reach around you and place her hands on the tank and push back on the tank that will stop it completly

Divorce worked for me. There are better ways though.

LMFAO!!! Better yet, tell her to buy her own damned bike!!!
J/K skeelo - I'd try the clear vinyl idea. I just bought a 18" x 12" sheet from a sign shop for $3 to protect some lettering on my tank... works pretty well and is cheap.

Seems like someone beat me to the joke but I was going to say: mount her to the front fender like a hood ornament.

To avoid bumping helmets while shifting - try taking the rpms up higher b4 shifting. Find the smoothest point to shift with the least amount of jerk. U could also try positioning urselves differently - sit further foward , have her sit more upright if she is leaning on ur back. The suggestion about her putting her hands on the tank when coming to a stop definitely works.

She is probably sitting too close to you. Is she trusting you on the bike? Have her scoot back and tell her to position her head on one of your shoulders a little sideways.

just be glad that it's not the back of your pants that's all scratched up! hahahah...
it happens quite often. she has to learn to use her hands to push while braking, etc. and not just hold on for dear life.

i had the same problem too with my gf. I tried to tell her to push on tank etc but seems like she's too scared when she rides with me lol. The only thing that worked was smoother shifting. B4 i shift i get the shift pedal as close as possible to shifting without applying clutch. Then clutch it for a sec, shift the gear and release the clutch gradually while maintaining high rpms. It worked wonders for me, no jolts when shifting plus acceleration didnt suffer at all.
