I got a little problem guys. When I was riding today when I shifted into 4th  it had a clunky type noise. It did it like 3 clicks then went into gear. This is the second time this has happened!!!

Im not sure what to do. It only does it on the upshift, never down shifting. And it only does it like every once in a while.

When it did it today it just did it the once, i shifted into 5th, then 6th, and back down then went through the gears several times, and never did it again. Could it be a loose chain or something? any help please

Thanks guys

Have you touched the shifter since you bought it? I had the same clunk after i re-installed the shifter linkage after painting it. You have to align the arm slit with the punch mark on the gearshift spindle. It was slightly off for me....re-aligned it and the "clunk" shifting problem went away.

Hope that helps

Has it happened since then? You may have shifted early or something ans jammed it and then it clunked in and realigned

I think a big question here is are you shifting with riding boots or regular shoes. I will admit that when I ride with regular shoes, I seem to click the gear shifter softer than with my boots. Therefore I sometimes miss a gear (especially when shifting from 1 to 2) and it goes into neutral. Even with the clutch all the way in, when I go to shift it back to 2nd because I missed the gear, I get a very LOUD clunk. This will happen if you miss a gear in any other gear as well. Its extremely difficult to reproduce, but I have noticed that I don't have that problem when I wear my riding boots.

Just some food for thought.

And I wasnt wearing "riding boots" but I was wearing combat boots. Dont know if that makes a difference or not. (steal toes)
