How many people on this forum can ride a CBR600 to it's limit???  Are there any AMA or WSB Supersport riders on this forum????

Got bored on a 600?

Times have definately changed.  Maybe if you are a little too large for a 600, I can see moving up, but getting bored??

I'll tell you that I had to convince my buddy to get an EX500 as a first bike, only 5 months later, he bought a new 636.  I wasn't cool with it as I thought he should ride his EX a little longer, but it wasn't cool for him so he upgraded....
Not six months go by and he upgrades to a 07 ZX-10.  This was a day after we were messing around and I beat him in a straight line race.  His excuse was, he really had to rev his engine to keep up with me and was constantly shifting trying to keep up with me.  That's got to be one of the most idiotic reasons I've ever heard.  He's only a buck thirty wet and I told him that a 1K would be too much....He's older and rides well and I think disciplined enough to take it easy, but doesn't like doing the twisties as much with the 1k because the bikes harder to toss and the front wheel wants to come up all the time....DUH!!! Really?!?  But he loves the power....
My point is now everyone wants to have the fastest bike right now instead of getting the right bike.

Just respect the power....The bigger bike doesn't add inches to you're p....
Ride safe all!!

I have been the proud owner of (5) 600cc bikes over the years. I went out and bought a new '07 1000RR last month. Point being....I have never ridden any of the 600cc bikes to their fullest potential and I know I will NEVER ride the 1000 to it's limit. If I did, I would be in the AMA, WSB, or MotoGP. Alot of these "Kids" nowadays want to the raw power just to have it. The problem is, they do not know how to use it!

Nicely put.
It's like when daddy gives his son a 450RWHP mustang. The question isn't if he'll botch it, but when.

And i really like watching drag races when old BMW 325's and such rip the testicles off of mustangs and camaros.

Oh, and for the record, if you like the feel of a litre bike, and can handle yourself on it, by all means, get it. But everyone fits up with a different bike better than someone else. Ride every bike you can get your hands on before buying one, litre bike or not. Find what fits you best, even if it's a honda valkyrie. LOl.

HEY HEY HEY!!! I drive a Camaro and have never been ripped by any BMW ;)

Folks, buy any bike you like.  When I honk on my bike, the acceleration and power still scares me.  I love it though.  I guess I'm just old school...Had a 550 for a few years, then went to a ZX-7 for a few more, then got my CBR1000RR.  I can't imagine my 1K being my first bike in my late teens or early twenties....
