I went on vacation for a week and some hater took my 600RR from the gated underground parking at my apartment complex. I'm gonna get a new one (and a chain lock) once I get the check from my insurance co. I paid 8950 OTD for the bike in May, and I'd like to try to get a better deal this time. I read the thread about how much everyone paid for their bike and it looks like the best deal was around 8100 OTD, but that was in TN. I'm in San Diego and I'm looking for feedback on what you think would be the best thing to offer the dealer for a brand new one. The only things I would want with the deal would be a free 600 mile service and Vortex sliders installed. Also a good chain lock.
Thanks in advance.

I'm in northern Virginia, the dealership in town has them for $9000, then I drove 40 minutes down the road and bought my 05' brand new for $7600. I guess anywhere in the $8k's is normal, but I wouldn't pay it.

im in nor cal, and i got mine for 8700 out the door, but i opted for the 5yr warranty, so it came to 9300. but 8700 otd, is pretty good around here.. doesnt get a whole lot better. but it all depends on where you live at.
If you're willing to travel quite a ways, here's ProCycle in Columbia Missouri
http://www.procycleusa.com/index.cfm?page=newvehicles&baseid=962 $7620 + "* Price does not include $219 Setup, $95 Freight/Handling, and $65 Processing charge. "
$7999 OTD
Looks like the only color they have in stock right now is light metallic silver. If I were you and wanting an RR, I'd wait til the '07's come out.

I got mine from quinseys lemon grove and paid 9400 otd for a 06 orange tribal. I got the 5 year honda extended, rear seat cowl, and gap. I feel I got a pretty god deal for mine. oh yes and 86 the chain lock and get yourself a bike brace. That is if the place where you live will let you put one in the ground. I requested to be able to bolt on into the ground from my apartment complex and explained to them why and they had no problem with it as long as I either did one of two things. Let them install it or have a licensed professional install it for me. I just let a professional put it into the ground for me. I also after it was bolted into the ground had a friend come over and weld the bolts to the brace so they couldnt be unbolted from the ground. two attempts have been made at theft and 0 successful. I am a huge believer in the bike brace.

http://www.bikebrace.com/index.html If my apartment will let me get one installed....it looks like a GREAT thing to get for security. There is no way for anyone to get your bike with this unless they get a toolset there and dissasemble the whole rear end of the bike

GUYS!!! OTD means total price with all the fees including taxes and registration...so it would be different depending on where you live...and can't bring brand new out of state bike to california because of smog issue...i got mine for $9000 OTD with %8.25 tax...i think you did ok on your first bike...you might get $200 or $300 cheaper but i wouldn't drive more than 50 miles...sucks about your first bike...those bastards will pay!!!

A buddy of mine drove about 100 miles to save a couple hundred bucks on his gixxer. There is one problem with that, the local dealer treats him like shit. He had a problem and they told him it would be a couple of weeks before they could get it in, (for regular warranty work). Then they kept it for a couple of days, said they didnt have time to get to it. To me its worth spending the extra couple hundred to avoid this problem.

In town (Las Cruces, New Mexico) at the largest ripoff dealership in the world (Las Cruces Motorsports) they wanted $9600 for a CBR600RR (Black on Red). RIPOFF. I drove 45 minutes east to Alamogordo to Alamogordo Cycle Center and paid $8120 INCLUDING TTL. Also got frame sliders installed and thrown in for free, which I though was cool since I didn't ask. - They got a customer for life.
Anyway, hope that helps. Usually smaller, non-butt hole dealerships in smaller towns have lower prices.
