I don''t know if theres already a thread out there like this, but I''d like to see where everyone else rides.

My dad and I are gonna do a bike trip for a week or two later this summer and if anyones got some favorite roads...

I don''t live there anymore but I used to love to ride 44/55 back in New York. Its medium traffic density though for a mountain road so you really have to be careful.

This is my gateway to some brilliant rides ... top of Moel Famu North Wales and down into Ruthin area from there wherever the mood takes me but usually some beautiful lakes and mountains :-)

One day I''d like to ride that road in Romania (I think it is Transfagarasan Road in (Transylvania? or Faragas?), Romania) and shake hands with what must''ve been some drunk road engineers

pics for those unfamiliar with it:

quote:

The Transfagarasan Road (national road 7C) is the best way of crossing the Fagaras Mountains. The road has 2 lanes. On the south it starts at the Vidraru Dam, then it goes up in a sinuous road up to the Balea Lake at 2034m. The road continues down on the north side in The Fagaras Depression. From the north the road splits from the national road no.1 and it goes through the Cartisoara Village and enters the massif through a point called "Glajarie", continuing to the Balea Cascada Hotel and The Balea Lake (35km from the national road no.1). The passing between the north and south sides is being done through a long 887m long tunnel.

That looks like an awesome ride, the best type of turns are the ones that are completely unnecessary. I wonder what else you have to be worried about besides the goats...

+1! Nice.

Beautiful countryside over there Jules. Is that a "Flash to pass" switch. I know those are common for bikes on the other side of the pond.

Paved roads seem to be the best roads to ride on.

I have no twisties so I drag my knee on city street turns.
