SO I BOUGHT MY BIKE STANDS SO I CAN START DOING SOME UPGRADING TO MY BIKE AND PISSED ME OF BC I ALREADY HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH IT. I BOUGHT THE ONES IN THE LINK BELOW WITH THE SPOOL ADAPTORS AND AS SSOON AS I LIFTED IT UP IT SCRATCHED THE HELL OUT OF MY SWINGARM. DID NOTHING WRONG AND FOLLOWED ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS. HAVE YOU GUYS HAD ANY PROBLEMS LIKE THIS? AND DO U KNOW HOW TO TOUCH UP THE PAINT?

If you are using pad style, the pads should have been rubber coated.  If not then you just need to be more careful.  You could also try going someplace and getting the hooks for spools dipped into a rubber coating.

Buy a bottle of black touch up at wal-mart and it will fix it.

ILL POPST PICS LATER ON.

I love lamp. maybe you should be more careful next time.  sounds like your careless/lazy since you won't put lowercase on.  CAPS LOCK = 1 Press of a button.

OKIE, I would recommend you go with the pit bull stands, they are a little more expensive but they are perfect. Think about it, do you really want to cheap out on something thats holding your bike eight inches in the air. I dont know if you have seen how little area there is for the front stand to hang on to, but it sure is not a lot. This is not a product that you should be risking failure on. As for the rear, spool style is the way to go, it makes it much easier to pick up and lower the bike, and the spools act as swingarm sliders in the event of a mishap.

For the touchup go with satin black rattlecan, and then dab it with a paper towel when its drying so that it does not look so smooth. I did this when my cases got scratched up from a nearby angry lawnmower in my garage. I was pissed, but you would never know.

Somebody sure does have some purdy toes there....

Anyway, the damage doesn't look that bad at ALL. But, it is an almost brand new bike, and yes, any damage does seem like it's the end of the world. The rattle can/paper-towel dab trick sounds like it'll get it back to new again.

Obviously, you temporarily solved the problem by putting a towel at the top of that spool stand. For a permanent fix, I'd try fabricating the bracket, if possible. Bending it would bring it further away from the swing arm, but you don't want to compromise its ability to securely hold the bike up.

Good luck. And turn off the caps lock, damn it.

Use athletic tape to cover the the claw that grabs your spools.  Wrap
several layers kinda like wrapping the handle of a bat.  It will create a
nice soft catch for your spools.  Plus it will not scratch you swing arm.

Simple as playing with the kitty cat

I WAS THINKING THAT OR GETTING A SPACER AND A LONGER SCREW TO GIVE ME AT LEAST 1/2" MORE FROM THE SWINGARM....U THINK THAT WOULD BE BETTER?

that could lower the structural integrity of the stand..

i think the atheletic tape idea is the best thus far..

and i am definately ordering the pit bull stands after seeing this..

I have the same pare of stands from the same place. I am not happy with them either. (I didn't get the hooks though)

I am going to go with a set of T-rex stands off of ebay and sell my old set.
