ask mugochap, he was hanus enough to run stock can and rearsets at the track...but i believe his issue was grinding down the stock pegs not the can...

you can get a semi view of what would hit first, but just remember, when you're in a corner, the suspension is compressed...so you have even less lean before you hit stuff...

woodcrafts aren't adjustable...they go like 1" back and 1" up or something like that...but if you want gp shift...just switch out your lever for a blackbird or VFR one...and since jaymang as size 12 feet, shouldn't be a problem reaching it...

otherwise, cut the sprocket cover.

Dayum, I've visited this topic like a gazillion times before, and the same answer seems to keep coming up. I want to be able to play with the settings to find what is comfortable for me. Heck it just may be the standard 1" and 1" or something else. But oooh wheee, rearsets are sexy as hell. Plus the added crash protection I need. VFR/BBird parts cost money, but cutting the sproket cover....I'm sure Honda put that thing there for some purpose...I mean it's not like an appendix or that dangly thing in the back of your throat.

PPL: take off your feelers. You'll feel much better about yourself. Besides they're only there for insurance reasons.

Yeah take the peg feelers off... but keep in mind that even with them off you can still scrape the hell out of the stock peg!

I did this at the track this weekend, almost made me wreck!

Interesting. I didn't scrape pegs but my tire wear is nearly to the edge. Maybe you're bottoming your suspension.

Oh, mine aren't almost to the edge!!

OK, you got me by a couple of milimeters. But still check your suspension. The falling feeling you could have had may have been too much lean angle. Try adjusting your pressure. 2-3 psi lower should help.

Yeah the suspension is stock AFAIK, and I was running 36/36 I believe on the track. I didn't check actually haha I just went out there and ran. Don't you want stiffer suspension for the track so you don't have as much compression while leaned over, hence giving you more lean angle?

yea you do...and i've been telling jaymang to upgrade...muahhhahha...

mang...i've gone to the edge and beyond with stock rearsets...had fast times and never scraped mah pegs...lucky i guess?!??!?!

spike...WASH YOUR BIKE! it's dirty and i would be afraid to ride where you have ridden from oil and grease droppings!

LoL the bike is pretty clean... The chain needed to be lubed so I was told by someone we went with to run a session, and lube it, then lube it every couple sessions.... It seemed excessive but he is my mechanic and usually knows what he's talking about. PJ1 Black Label chain lube is some NASTY stuff, but I hear it's some of the best.

Yes, that's excessive and possibly dangerous on the track. Run the bike for the day and lube it afterwards. That gives it time to soak in.

Tahoe- - that's cold man. Calling me out like that.
