got a 93 CBR F2 yesterday with 7000 oroginal miles on it
it sat in this guys basement out of the weather for 8 years!
obviousily there is a lot of gunk buildup
IM flushing out the gas tank and using lots of carb cleaner
the carbs are coming of shortly for a nice flushing and jet cleaning
the petcock took a lot of work to be flushed out with screwdrivers toothpicks compressed air and carb cleaner (petcock orignially wouldnt turn!)
any reccomendations on what kind of cleaning solvent to use on the gas tank?

Sitting for 8 years, I'd run clean oil through it until it heats up and change it again. The tires will be shot... too old to have much grip left in them. Keep it close to home until you see what it's going to do. Take some time and check over the bolts and nuts for tightness. Make sure the axles are tight and the steering stem bearing is tight.
And great find.... my 05 has over 9000 miles on it in 8 months.
