Bought my bike brand new day before yesterday...  Yesterday I pull up to a light...  I'm on the right side of the "oil patch" in the middle of the road.  As I come to a stop I put my left leg down and my foot lands in some AC condensation that was on top of an oil patch..  Water and oil don't mix eh guys?  My foot slips and I proceed to drop my 12 hour old bike!  Only a minor ding in the front fairing but no scratches since I wasn't movin at all.  Talk about pissed!  Makes me want to encourage people NOT TO HAVE OIL LEAKS AND NOT TO USE THE AIR CONDITIONING!  HAHA....

BTW - Great to be a part of the forum...  I'll have pics of my bike up soon.  Not like you guys don't know what a White '07 looks like anyway...

Man, that does suck....  but look at it this way.  At least you have it out of the way already.

ouch, first bike?  not that in this case it completely matters given the circumstancse, but thats why its a good idea to buy used first.  i could never tell when i dropped my bike.

and as OFG said, atleast the first is out of the way, thats always the hardest to stomache.

HAHA..  Yeah I joined the club quick..  This is actually my 2nd bike..  I had a 2003 Yamaha R6 for awhile..  So even though it was discouraging, just a minor set-back for the amount of fun I've been having on it..

that sucks, only 12hrs old.   one of the guys we were riding with today had perfect repsol replica. He didnt have the kickstand down all the way, got off to get gas, turned around and it was laying on its side.  broke the clutch lever, cracked the fairing, and messed up some of the vinyl decals.  man that sucks.

not that this helps every time but it does help once in a while; get some boots with oil resistant non slip soles. what type of shoes did u have on?
