Anyone ever experience brake pulsing?   Heres what happens....I'll be comming to a stop, and if I brake kinda hard, not hard, but not a roll-up easy-brake either, at about 8-5 mph right before the bike stops I feel this pulsing from the front rotors/brakes.  It only does it at these low speeds/stops.   I had no clue what it was, but reading through an issue of sport-rider, was browsing an ad for gaffer brake parts, and they advertised a flat-ground rotor with no brake pulsing...not gonna run out and buy new rotors or anything, but it's the first I've seen that kinda pointed to what I am experiening.  The front brakes make a little contact noise, some is expected being as that your right on top of them, but sometimes I'll hear this rubbing, kinda off-balance, like a shh, shh, shh, contact as the rotor turns, again, all at low speed????   Ideas?

Warped rotors maybe.

First thing that came to mind, but the bike is damn near brand new and I haven't been hard on it at all?

Oh, thats just the anti-lock brakes.

In reality I'm not sure. I would just inspect the hell out of em, take em apart, clean, inspect and refill them, then reassemble. Do you wheely? Something just sounds bent to me. If you have a front stand you can spin your wheel and check clearances and trueness........hopefully someone else has better help.

No stuntin at all.  I've had it to the shop a time or two getting some goodies and all, and they never said anything, I immagine they would, it's a very reputable speed shop big into bikes, I figure they'd catch it if it was something.

yo...i think it's front end issues you have...either not aligned for forks no adjusted properly.

Did I get a one in a million that got put together incorrectly???   I've never adjusted the suspension or anything.  I mean, it's not hugely noticable or anything, but just enough so often that I notice from time to time.

you may also have bubbles in your lines...i think you should bring it back to them under warranty and let them figure it out.

I'd say warped or loose rotors as well. If your under warranty I wouldn't even worry, take it in.

My 2 cents (since I retired that's all that its worth) But in may be worth while checking your pad sliders, the pads move on these things & if not nice & smooth, can cause the pads to bind slightly, causing the "pulse". they can be removed without having to touch the pads, just remove the plugs, and then remove them with an Allen (hex) key.
You can polish up using car polish , or if bad, 1200 Wet & Dry. It may be a new bike to you, but if its been sitting for a while. or if you have ridden in the wet a bit you can get a bit of corrosion happening With all the developement at Honda, you would think that they would have come up with a better system by now.

Can you elaborate on the Pad slider bit????   I ride in the rain more than anything (up here in Seattle), I can take a look as soon as I have a clue what your talking about.   Thanks for the scoop

Yep, the slider is a rod that goes through the top (or bottom) of the two pads, it does two things, allows the pads to be suspended in place and when you pull on the brake they actually slide across the rod (& when you let go, slide back) The clearance for the slider is not a tight fit, but if the surface becomes a bit rough, the pads don't slide cleanly, but grab a bit as they go (grab, move, grab)  there is a hole in each pad that the round slider fits through. If you have a look at one of the front calipers, on the side, bout half way,  you will see a round plug (metal) with a groove in it, that looks like it would suit a flat head screw driver (which it does). Once you remove this plug, you will see the slider head.
If you remove the slider, the pads will could drop down (they won't fall out), but its just a matter of lifting them back into place when your insert the slider again.

When you remove the plugs, the slider is under it, remove it and polish them....then, realign the pads and re-insert sliders, and screw plugs back in...Do I have it right?   Thanks for breakin it down Barney-Style for me, I just like to be sure.

Sounds about right, its pretty simple, its an easy thing to eliminate from the list of possibles. My bike did the same thing, usually at a dawdle, like rolling up to the lights, got the pulse feel, a couple of times I heard a noise as I was using the brakes. I thought the same thing, warped discs etc. But this thing only happened like every now and then, (especially if I had only ridden a short distance) & warped discs do it all the time (once theys warped, they stays warped) and this can be felt all the time, if their really bad it can be felt as a shudder through the bars. Try this fix 1st, it ain't hard to do, it worked on my bike, and I do it as a regular maintaince thing, just take your time, if you still have a problem then fer sure take it to the dealer who sold it to you & get it fixed. If you don't feel comfortable about it, then just take it back, that's wot warrantys are for.
Your probably like me and had the front wheel off the ground, spinning it, seeing if it made any weird noises that you had not heard before, "wots that?" (yeah like you lift the front wheel up every time for reference)  and jamming on the brake. All brakes make a noises anyway, as the disc passes the pads. If you get really frustrated then your probably going to want whip the pads out any have a look any way, (I did), get a manual if possible, and note the anti-rattle springs placement. Good Luck

My inital thought as well, since it's practically brand new.  Make them fix it before it gets worse and then costs you more down the road.

I have the exact same thing happening to me only sometimes. Right before the bike comes to a stop, the brakes pulsate just a little. My friend's 600RR (bought right after mine) does the same thing so he says. I thought it was normal (being mine and his do the same thing), but I'll get this checked out ASAP from reading these posts.
