So I noticed my front brakes are squealing just a little tiny bit when stopping at a stop light.
If I change the front brake pads that that'll cure it, right??
I did a search on here and it seems the the EBC HH brake pads are probably the way to go.
Do they eat up the rotors though??
I did read some bad stuff about them (being too hard of a compound & eating rotors) on cbrworld.net though
Best price I found was $25.61 each pair (x2) and $12 to ship them.....so roughly $63 SHIPPED for the front pads.
Checked ebay and the best deal there was $66 SHIPPED.
Where can I find STOCK replacement pads at though???
I checked
www.ronayers.com & they listed 2 different part numbers for the pads and were $34 or $37 each pair
Anywhere else to look for the stock brake pads??

If you're going to replace the pads, you might as well replace the rotors or have them resurfaced, otherwise, if they're warped a little, they'll eat into your new pads and blow them away pretty quick.

Not necessary, but the pads will wear faster. Replace the rotors when they reach the min. service limit.

Yeah I'm not replacing the rotors...they're not warped or anything
The bike only has 1,700 miles on it
Obviously it's the brake pads that are squealing. I'm gonna give the rotors a wipe down with some brake cleaner and see if that does anything....if not, them I'm gonna look into new brake pads.
So back to my original question.....are EBC HH pads the way to go??
Or where is a good place to buy replacement OEM pads???

EBC HH brakes should do the trick. But at such low mileage on your bike, I doupt you need to replace them.

If all they're doing is giving a little squeak, and there's plenty of pad material left I wouldn't worry about it. Mine squeak too, and my pads are only a month old, but then again from my experience EBC pads always tend to be a little squeaky, especially when cold. I have EBC's on my car too and they've always squeaked when they're cool. Different brands of pads may be different, but you just have to try and see

i wouldnt waste the money cause with that mileage they not need replaced. also after reading your sig, how long does it take you to install an air filter

Does anyone have an opinion about just spraying some brake cleaner on the rotors and pads as they sit on the bike? Maybe it could be some grease from the chain or some other kind of goo got on the brakes and is causing squeal.

with only that mileage, the chances are its just a little stone or piece of dirt in between one of the pads and rotor.
remove the calipers and the pads, clean rotors and the pads with brake cleaner or even petrol, put everything back and you should be perfect again.

Yeah I know that the brake pads shouldn't need to be replaced, because like everyone else has said they have like no miles on them. And I don't wanna really spring for new pads since they "shouldn't" need to be replaced.
Guess I'm gonna try and clean them when I get a chance and see if that helps.
Or maybe like it was said....it's just a "phase" and it'll stop sometime soon (hopefully)
