Busa wants to race me... HELP!!!

Hey all my friend just bought an 06 Hayabusa a couple weeks ago and he just told me last night he wants to race me. Do i stand a chance? he weighs 210 i weigh 260 i have an 06 1000RR both bikes are all stock. What do I do? I think ill tell him i want to start at about 50 MPH? What do you all think I should do? Do I even stand a snowballs chance in hell?

If you can get off the line a hell of alot better than he can you do but other than that he's going to pull hard on you.

He has the advantage in body weight by 50 lbs.
You have the advantage in bike weight by 90 lbs.
Horsepower is about a draw.
 
Take it to the local drag strip and it should be a fun race. 

It'll be close. Let us know who loses. 

Race him on a track that has lots of curves and hairpin turns.  The more curves the better for you.  Unless he is a better rider.

The race will be held today. We will start from 0 and run them up to 140 MPH. 1 race only no retrys. I took the bike to the dragstrip last thursday and ran a 10.21@136.25MPH I can lunch damn near perfect so I think I can take him up to 140mph

Nah man don't even do it, my buddy has a '05 Busa, I can get him in the curves but on a straight, I can hold him off for a minute, but I'm weighing in at 175 and he's right around 200. But in the end, he always stretches me. Oh well can't win the all

i ran a 10.07@140 last fall-at 800' above sea level-maybe if ya had a 15-44 520 gearing combo i'd say yeah-phil

Other than that, enjoy the fact that you have one sweet ride.

Even if you can both launch, you should be able to take them off the line. My buddies 1K will take my other buds busa up to about 120ish, from there, you dont stand a chance.

It's the better rider,with the Biggest BALLS who wins in most cases, when you put to superbikes together with a tenth or so seconds between them. If your at a dragstrip with no fear of traffic to scare you, and no turns to slow him down, he will probably get you at the end. I haven't had a Busa beat me yet. I do have mods on my bike though. Believe it or not the closest race I had was with another 2006 1000rr stock. He rides the hell outta his bike though. The Busa's we ride with, and there are about 10 of them, can't keep up with him either.

I can't see where you are. . but if you're anywhere near York/Harrisburg, PA, I'll race him.

A good friend wont let good friends ride a Suzuki, lol, On the top end of the higher gears the busa will shine with better torque.

my 2 cents worth,
your bud knows he can beat you in a quarter mile run these are not drag bikes they do good but he is better. if he wants to play tell with you run him on the quarter mile if he will run you on a good twisty some where. then after the quarter mile add the bike lengths that he beat you by . and when you run him on the good twisty add the bike lengths you beat him by and take his bike you no like pinks their is no way he can take you in the corners it is a good bike but not a corning bike just a thought
