Well it was a sad day yesterday when i traded my RR for the new gixxer 750.  i hated to do it but got such a deal and it was a now or never kinda thing to get a new bike.  She will be sadly missed, but i'll still be here to moderate the knuckleheads...here's the pics of the rr and the new stead to the stable

First, your 600RR was black, just as mine is. The best color. Your Gixxer is the dark blue, just like I would have gotten if I had gone with the Gixxer. I think you got the most beautiful machine Suzuki makes. My dad and I have been researching the GSX-R750. I kind of fell in love with it in the process. If I ever upgrade or get a 2nd bike, it might well just be that one.

You'll still have lots to do with the forums, just in the 'other bike' chat. It will be cool to have someone whose main bike is a Gixxer on the forums. Nobody but Suzuki makes a 750. All the rest of us with our 600s and literbikes always wonder about racing them, whether they are a lot faster than the 600s or if they can keep up with a literbike. It will be interesting to hear if you like your new bike better.

pipe is undecided..i'm looking at the taylor made ones or scorpion.  but that won't happen till next year.  and yes i have a cowl, it comes with the bike, which is sweet if you ask me

the honda looked 100 times better IMO. not a fan of the gixxers even though it truely is a great machine. Nothing against anyone here or no offense intended but i do live in Central FL and the spanish population here completely slaughtered suzuki's reputation. Every 10 minutes i see some fool riding down the road with cargo shorts and a tank top on one. Most of them have not a clue what technology was put together to make the bike, it's all in the name for them.......huyabusas? dont even get me started....

sorry for the rant haha

the RR was and is beautiful. it was a wrong move IMO to trade. the gsxr is so ugly. the only plus to gsxr's is that they come with adjustable rearsets and the seat cowl (which you definately need for that horrible looking passenger seat). did you have your lower fairings painted or did u by 05-06 black lower fairings?

So is the Gixxer a lot faster? Does it handle as well? Is it as comfortable? Are you happy you made the switch?

Sorry to hear that you traded down.  Just kidding! While I'd like to think I could get you to check out the '07 cbr as a comparison, it's a bit late and I hear alot of places won't let you test-drive their stuff before you buy anymore. I hope you have a great time on your GSXR 750, I've got a guy I ride with from time to time that just goes crazy for "Gixer's". I've not heard bad things about them in a long time, so just be safe and enjoy it!

bailey I am pretty sure the gixxer is more comfortable than the cbr just by looking at the seat it looks more comfortable. Rode my buddies 04 750 gixxer and it felt real nice and did feel more comfortable then my 06 600rr.

Yeah... though I've only ridden one for a matter of minnutes, I'd have to say the guy that designed the '06 and before seats must have been sittin' there staring at the drawing board, chain smoking and putting the cigarettes out on his stomach or something. They're seriously mean buisness. Much love for my '07 seat.

just got finished riding for about an hour after work...VERY impressed with this bike. i don't wanna say its alot faster, but it is very noticable.  the seat is heaven sent to my ass haha, very comfy.  the riding position fits me better as i am 6'2, and with the adjustable rearsets, its that much more nice.  pulls like crazy in 2nd...only had it goin about 65 today on the backroads, still gotta break it in.  and ITS NOT PURPLE fox! its blue! haha

Thanks for the info. Please keep me posted as you start digging into its potential. Frankly one part of me is jealous. My dad, who is also 6'2", is, at age 62, thinking of getting rid of his Ducati ST4S and getting the GSX-R750. I'll let him know you think it's comfortable.
