I'm sure most of you are aware of the CCT issue with the F4i's.

I'm on my second one and it is now shot. Didn't even last a year. I had Honda replace it free, but got stuck paying an hour labour. I now need to have it replaced AGAIN!

Suggestions? Anyone have success with one type/brand over another?

A.P.E. has manual ones that you adjust every so often. Make sure you orderthe new gasket when you order the tensioner. www.aperaceparts.com is the website. They have all sorts of stuff for high performance applications.
The manual tensioners are not very expensive either

i think i heard that the manual tensioners are a pain in the azz to adjust. is this true?

if not, how long, how much effort is required?

it is easy to adjust..just you have to get to it since it behind the frame spar, you have to go from the top by removing the tank and getting past the carbs/throttle bodies..just adjust it until it snug and back it off just a touch...once you do it it isnt that hard...

yep, that's what i thought, sounds like a pain.
removing the tank and all.... sheesh.

oh well, beats the annoying noise that it is making now.

how often do they need to be adjusted? any idea?

thanks for the info.
