Yo can anybody tell me if a single side swingarm will go on an F1 and if so what kind should be used with the least amout of fabbing?

least amount of fabbing?
there is no least amount of fabbing.
i suggest using a swingarm from a honda nt650 hawk. i just saw one sell on ebay for about $275 with everything except the rim. you could also use a vfr 750 (90-97). difference between the 2 is the 650 is slightly narrower at the frame mounting end and uses a narrower rim. oem tire size for 650 is 150 and 750 is 170.
as for other single siders, i'm not sure. there aren't very many bikes out there with them so your choices will be pretty slim. there is the triumph (i'm sure there is one out there but i've never seen one used myself), 90's ducati (read: expensive), and all others meaning they us shaft drive.
this is a very hard mod to do because if you get it wrong, the bike will handle poorly. it'll look good but won't handle for beans.
the writeup for the single sider is long, about as long as a f3 mod. about 90% of the fab work is done to the swingarm.

I would have to say that it would look cool, but be way too much work. Stick with the one on it and do other mods, so just buy a single swingarm bike. I agree with what was said about the handleing, you would really have to look out for that.

I have a single sided swingarm on my cbr 600 F3. I used the swingarm from a VFR 750 1994. The only problem my friend and I had was finding parts. We had to make spacers to go between the swingarm and frame. New bearings had to be used that would allow the
VFR swingarm bolt to run through the frame. A new chain had to be found in a junk yard. Some parts around the subfrrame had to moved around. The suspension was matched to that of the F3 trying to keep the shock placement and angle as the same as the F3
swingarm. My friend made me a PRO- link type shock linkage to keep the handling in check. I ride my bike hard with the swingarm on it and it handles fine. The are some old article around from the 90's about a swingarm comparison. The F2 or F3 had to two swingarms put on them and raced hard at the track. The testers found very little differance between the two swingarms. My bike pics are posted on this site under ( making more customs fairings for you and me) and ( custom home made fairings update) which I am. still working on have a look. If you have any questions or need me to take detailed pictures of my bike just ask.
