Never fails when I take my bike to work someone always ask if they can take it for a ride.I let one guy ride it because he let me ride his R1 and I know he knows how to ride, other then that the answear is no.Am I wrong?

I feel never let anyone ride that doesn't have something you can and would ride while yours is being repaired incase they crash yours.

I also have to go with the HeILLLLLLLL NO! the few people that have asked me and said "I let you ride mine" I just say, yeah...but I have the money to replace yours and you dont have the money to replace mine...no offense" Im not sure if they are insulted or baffled, but either way they dont ask again lol.

Ya, I've never had the urge to ride someone else's bike and don't ask. There have been a few guys that have wanted to "swap" to see how the other bike rides but I'm not into that. Like someone mentioned, it'd be like wife swapping in my mind

Reason I got my bike is cause it's what I want to ride -- if I wanna ride a bike like yours I'll buy one.
Only time I'll ride someone else's bike is if I'm working on it and those would only be very short test runs. I respect other peeps property too much and kinda wish other people felt the same.
Ya, I'm long winded today

No one has ever had the balls to ask me.
There are maybe 2 people I would let ride it. My cousin, who rides for a living and my riding buddy who has a busa and a gixxer -- and only them because I know how they ride and if anything happened, I know they would do the right thing.

yeah it's like an unspoken rule... don't ask to ride someone's bike damnit!!

only exception is if you ask someone if they want to take it for a spin (rare occasion!).

Its funny you mention if someone ask you if you want to ride there bike. This co-worker of mine came out to work location with his bike.He had the day off.He pulled up on his R1 got off and just handed me the keys.I told him no I cant.He got insulted and I had to ride it and he insisted that I get on it to see what it can do and I did.I got back and he was happy.Since then I let him ride my 954 and my 06 cbr1000.I trust him.

you know its strange, normally those that have asked don't own any bike, or own a cruiser or the like. I simply can't imagine asking someone to ride their rocket.....it's different if your with a group of 'long time buddies' that you ride with, maybe one afternoon you all switch mounts for a while....but some people have big brass ones and just ask....i figure they understand direct so i just say no. One guy I worked with has asked 3 times...finally today he said, you really aren't going to let me ride your bike are you, and I said, don't take this personal, but no.
I just don't think non-riders or rider wanna be's truly understand, license or not these bikes are not your nighthawk s.....

I feel the same...there are very very few people i would let even sit on my baby, but one night i walk out of the house and one of these rider wannabe's just starts my bike and then preceeds to start revving it up. He did all of this without even asking me he just assumed he had the right, idk where people like that get off. they just don't get it. I was so pissed at him all i could do was just stand there shaking. I can't believe people sometime.

Yes as long as they leave a $9,000 deposit. Of course only $8,000 of it is refundable.

The only persons I would let ride mine are 1) my uncle because he's been riding for almost 50 years and he's got the bank in case he had an incident, and 2) the service guy at the dealer if they needed to check something.
A buddy just bought an '06 kawi 650R a few weeks ago and asked me if I wanted to take it for a spin. I would like too, but I declined as I'm not going to get in some crap with someone elses property.
Other than that, I don't let people ride mine and I don't ask to ride other peoples bikes.

i only let my best friend ride because he has been riding a long time and he's the one that got me into bikes. and i trust him. a couple of weeks ago at my little brothers graduation party one of my dad's friends was there and he was half drunk and the s.o.b. had the nerve to ask me to let him ride it. i told him no but he asked me 2 more times. i was really getting pissed, this was the first time i had met this guy and he's asking to ride my baby. the nerve on that guy.
I always answer that question with a question. It goes like this If I let you ride my bike can i F**k your Woman.

I Love when i get this question i just want to slap them especially the "come on i've rode a 125 dirt bike before" My reply first starts with **** You, then since they are usually the "whats it got for power" guys i put it into context for them. I just tell them that what ever 125dirt bike they have rode in the past can't compare for what ever that dirt bike tops out at the cbr will reach it in 3seconds or less. Then their jaws proceed to the floor.

I hear ya Orangy dude but I know some of the wives of the dudes that have wanted to ride my bikes and it wouldn't be a fair swap -- besides, I have a pretty wife and too many kids to comfortably afford a divorce and child support
