catalytic converter removal?

i have a jardinert-1 slip on on my bike now and i was wondering if it would be possible to take the header off of an older year 600rr and put it on my bike so i would get rid of the cat? i would obviously be messing with air flow and causing problems that i would think could be fixed by making a custom map for my pc3. also im not sure if california is the only state that uses the cat and if so i could just get a stock header from an out of state bike if anyone knows anything thanks

I know the o2 sensors are only on cali bikes and the cal conv. was only on the cali model of my f4i. I put a pipe with out the cal conv. on my bike and it works just fine. Hope that was some help to ya.
