CBR 1000rr vs Z06 Corvette

hey guys, i puld up to a light today on my way to work, and its one of those lights where people gun it from the far right lane to beat the traffic to get all the way over left. So, here pulls up this guy in a new red z06 corvette....i was in the next to far right lane (1st car) and he was beside me and i knew he was goin to punch it, when the light turned....so heres my golden chance....i rode beside him till he got about 30 mph and i heard him kick it to get in front of me ( or should i say try to get in front of me) so i opened her up to and ran than chevy piece of shit in the ground....when you buy a car like that, it should come with the pwer vs weight ratio booklet..haha.....thanks for reading guys

I love hearing stories like this. It happens all the time. I had this one clown riding a Beemer, not sure if it was a 3 or 5 series, but coming off the Toll, I noticed his aggressive drive. He was trying to catch up to an R1. He was weaving in and out of traffic. I came from behind... had to support my fellow Rider. I came close to him... I made sure he saw me look at him... then, I passed him... not by much.. I wanted him to Bite! And sure enough... he did. At this point the R1 and me were next to each, ahead of this clown...casually riding - of course... we waiting 'till Beemer boy approached us... then we just TOOK OFF! IT was great!

Will they ever learn?

haha, great story......i dont think they will ever learn, and they act like cause they paid 50k for it, its supposed to be fast.and that bikers cant afford it..little does he know, i have 2 bikes in the garage and a 06 acura tl and a 06 cadillac escalade esv platinum....so take your corvette that you are trying to use to get pu**y and beat it

Yeah same here, i pulled up too a red light and there was a mustang cobra in the next lane over. The thing look like the guy put $20K into it. The light turn green he push it and so did i, he looked like he was going in reverse. I know that they must feel like sh*t when they know that they put all this money into the car and get bet by 3 cars or more.

There is very little more gratifying than having one of these meat heads challenge you to some sort of acceleration contest, only to go past him on the rear wheel. I love that feeling of humility for the guy. Although, there are cars that will bite back. They are just rarely seen and you'll no doubt know when that time arrives. I ran up against a KZ-900 when I first moved to the Twin Cities. I grew up with my dad owning a KZ1000 Z1-R, so I know the old Kaws can be nasty. This one happened to be a Turbo. He kicked my ass from a top gear roll on, but down shift and he got his ass handed to him. I just didnt realize it was a turbo until I heard it when we took off. (I was on the wrong side of the bike to see it). Fun times.

i totally agree with the booklet thing, spanked a new built saleen. at the next light he was tellin me how he beats 600's all the time. i just said sry...i dragrace. one day i will go pro...just need a sponsor :)....and a trailer

In a straight line our bikes will beat them every time, but when the roads get curvy I've seen many a sportbike rider get left behind by vettes or old guys on bmw's.

yeah some car people just arent smart..next summer im putting my RR up against a 700hp supra..hmm..a stock z06 wont have a chance though. i have one so i can say that lol

LOL. I have a stock 600RR and I've spanked a Z06 pretty good. The Vipers keep up pretty well (but it was modded up pretty good too). I find it absolutely gut wrenching when a rice burning Civic with an 8-foot stepladder spoiler and garbage-can muffler pulls up and challenges for a race. ROTFLMAO!!!!! I'll act like I'm stressing, then give them the "see ya" wave and hammer it. Their headlights dissapear within seconds. lol.

always fun to smash on the yuts in their expensive cars or little shitheads in mommy and daddys car.

(dont give me your car keys) the thing that bothers me the most about these jackasses is when they start putting me and others lives in danger. i was almost run the hell over by some retard in his integra trying to race me, but not paying attention to the people in front of him... fu*kin idiot..

I just dont understand y they even try. It always seems to b tho that they r some young ass kids in a suped up car (at least thats what they think) that wanna race. Ive pulled up on rice burners, muscle cars, n even some higher end sports cars n its always the same thing. they take off thinkin im racin them cause im on a bike, i catch up in first gear right next to them, put the bike on the back wheel n take off wit them havin that im a dumbass look on there face. U gots to love it when some 16 year old wit a lil camaro thinks he is hot shite n thinks he is the fastest thing on the road cause he thinks he is racin grandma's in buicks n towncars off the line from light to light. Then when he finally pulls up to one of us he learns that lil weight to hp ratio thing really does matter.

i just laughed as he peeled a few gears away

it takes a really fast car to hang with any new age liter bike. it takes atleast 850+whp in a car like a corvette, cobra, etc.

Sorry i ride most of the time now and I got to differ! Before I got my 06' 1krr, I use to kill litre bikes all the time in my jza 80 supra and its only got 636.1hp@wheels! Off the lights I would blast r1s, gixxers and hondas! Alot of riders think they will kill any sports car? In all honesty most street riders will not beat a really good modified sports car! Most modded turbo'd sports cars do 10sec 1/4(me & my friends all do!). Most litre bikes will also do 10sec 1/4 but the difference is most riders cannot launch to do a 10sec 1/4....? My blade has 169hp@Wheel and I blast most but not all cars!

if the cars are winning it's not because of the bike, but the rider.

i've got a video of an exhaust/pcIII r1 beating a 1000whp ford gt, a zx10 with exhaust beating a t88 supra (making ~ 1000whp), and also a zx10 with bolt on's beating a 700+whp corvette.

i had a 700whp/800wtq 03 cobra that i did a lot of street racing with. i beat an 04 gsxr1000 from a 2nd gear roll on. had he known how to ride the bike properly i wouldn't have won, simple as that.

r1's, zx10's, 1000rr's, and gsxr1000's all trap in the the mid 140's stock. sorry, but a 600whp car isn't going to do that.

can some please inlighten me on a sport car eating a 1000 rr on twisties dosent make sence to me that a sport can eat our lunch in corners need help in the direction. thanks

Yes that is something to laugh about.

i have a friend with a 1000 awhp 3000 gt vr4 he has turbos as big as my head he says he will hurt my feelings from a stop i would believe so but he says it will be a good race from a roll so im just thinking i will race from a 100mph roll b/c he is awd lol!

Because a lot of people on sportbikes can't ride the bike to it's ability. This past summer I passed a small group of sportbikes in some tight curves on my harley only to have them fly by me when the road became straighter. What you have to remember is that a lot of riders can't corner to save their life and a lot of guys in sports cars can really tear up the curves.

It's the driver or rider and if both are of equal skill the bike will win 99% of the time.

I've said that on all my related posts. It's the rider. "Big Balls Can Win It All" and Skill is the main factor.

When it comes down to it, any car that's worth it's weight in gold handle better than a sportbike. Sportbikes in general have a better power to weight (faster 1/4 and 0-60) than a lot of stock street cars. A Z06 might be a poor man's race car but it will have a higher top end, change direction, and stop better than about 95% of all street legal bikes. And off the top of my head I can't think of one bike that can do all those things better. For all the "weekend warriors" that play with their toys it does have alot to do with ablilty. Roadracing is roadracing. If you compare the highest forms of racing G.P. bikes get walked on by F1 cars running the same courses.
