ON AN 02' F4I WHAT IS THE STOCK CHAIN LINK SIZE OR HOW MANY LINKS, ALSO HOW MANY TEETH ARE ON THE FRONT SPROCKET AND REAR , I AM ABOUT TO REPLACE CHAIN AND WAS THINKING ABOUT GOING 1TOOTH LESS IN THE REAR BECAUSE A MECHANIC SAID 1 TOOTH LESS ON THE FRONT SPROCKET ADDS A LITTLE MORE STRESS TO THE MOTOR IF ANYBODY HAS ANY KNOWLEDGE ON THIS SUBJECT FEEDBACK NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE IS APPRECIATED ALSO SOME INFO ON WHERE TO OBTAIN THESE PRODUCTS WOULD BE NICE

Why don't you count the teeth on your sprockets and count the links on your chain? Going 1 tooth down on the front doesn't cause any extra wear on your engine, but it affects your cruising rpm. For instance, if previously you were at 5000 rpm at 60 mph in 6th gear, with a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket, it may be 5500 or 6000 rpm at the same speed. 1 tooth down in the front is similar in affect as going 3 teeth larger in the rear. Do yourself a favor and replace both sprockets and the chain at the same time. Don't mix and match worn parts. You can usually get an entire kit for around 140 - 170 bucks.

why would you go 1 tooth less in the rear? it's either -1 in the front or +3 in the rear.
if you're mechanic is referring to higher cruising RPM for the same speed wearing out the engine a TEENY TINY bit..then maybe....but will be very hard to tell or justify using that.
i will wear out the sprocket and chain a bit faster, but again...not by significant amounts.
