This is something I wasn't planning on asking for a while. However, I just went up to the storage to let the girl get the juices flowing, and I noticed my chain has started to rust while she has been packed away. That being said, what manufacturer do you guys recommend, and where should I look. I definitely want the OEM set up, but don't necessarily want to pay dealer price.

Hmmmmmm... those are some pretty tall requirements....BUT all is not lost. Everything I've ever read says go with a driven chain :

As far as price goes welllllllll......if you surf long enough you'll find a good deal. Your not changing gearing correct?

just cause it has surface rust from being stored doens't mean it's shot.. but what is the info on it.. miles and condition of links? but a good way to fix it up in spring is to.. take it fully off, clean it with a brush and some soap water.. dry it. then lube it up very well!! that will take care of your problem depending

Total miles on the bike 3072. The links and sprockets seem to be fine other than the small amount of rust. This is my first bike so I know I am probably being a little paranoid, but it is always good to be ready when the time comes.

Thanks for the help guys.

IM WITH BOBJOE!  put some lube on it and ride it a bit, and it'll be fine

IF YOU WANT IT TO LOOK NEW AGAIN, YOU CAN USE NEVERDULL ON IT AND THE RUST WILL COME OFF.  ITS COTTON WITH SOME KIND OF CHEMICAL ON IT, AND IT WORKS WELL

Yea I have the lube already. I bought some with my last minor mod purchases, just haven't gotten around to applying it.
