Hey guys,

Do you guys use the clutch to tame power delievery. Does this wear the clutch out?

How long have you been on two wheels slick?

1 month in total, I guess, I had my last CBR for 3 weeks had it stolen waited 3 months for a new one had this one for 2 weeks but been away for work for a week.

I use the clutch alot in when I commute to work. I never just dump the clutch always just let it out progressively.

No one dumps the clutch from a stand still. You let it slip (or let it out progressively) to control the power to the rear wheel. that's it's design.

ah. I see.

Now I know what slipping the clutch mean. what I was doing all along. Then what is blipping the throttle? I hear people do it on down shift.

blipping the throttle means to give a quick twist of the throttle. People do this downshifting to help match engine speed with road speed so it's smoother.

cool

been doing this with out realising it just trying to be smooth as possible. when I got my bike it rained hard for 2 weeks so most of my learning was on a CBR600RR in the rain. All good.

usually slipping the clutch is used when your clutching up a wheelie.... letting out the clutch slowly when you take off is normal operation of the machine... if you didnt do that, youd probably kill it or get a good strong lurch when you took off :S

was curious about how other riders use there clutch, but not just take off and riding around in the city at slow speed.
