My buddy was out riding today and all the sudden his bike lost all go....in first gear it just sits there and wont go ...he revs the engine to like 6500 rpm and then it spudders forward ...but other than that ..it just sits there even in gear..

Any ideas?

if it goes into gear it is not the clutch. i had the same problem with my f2 it could be the spark pulug wire's check the ignition wires and coils. that could be it. also does it idle funny?

yes it goes into gear...I dont think its the plug wires or ignition wires..it starts perfect..idles perfect...doesnt spudder or anything...it just wont go...u can almost feel when u let the clutch out that it almost wants to pull a lil forward but not enough to make it actually move...he had the clutch out all the way and it just sat there and idled perfect while in gear..not moving..then he revs it to 6500 and it would jerk a lil and just go a lil but only would go if he had way high rpms ...and just would give a few jerks here n there to make him move forward...

He lost something in the clutch area -- could be basket is cracked. Don't run the bike anymore until you/he tears into the clutch -- if part of the basket broke off then little bits of it are floating in the oil that's going to the engine.

sounds like a cracked basket

I would put money on a broken basket or clutch hub. definately tear it apart before running again
