Over the weekend, my son accidentally scratched the right side of my engine case on my new 06 RR while it was parked. It's a very small area only about 1 inch, and not bad, but it did get through the top layer of paint. I need to get some touchup paint on it right away to avoid any rusting.

Anyone have any idea what is a good color code to match it? Figure I can get one of those little touchup paint bottles from Autozone to do the trick.

Thanks!

Don't sweat the little stuff dude...it shouldn't rust because it's made of aluminum!

OK thx Fret, but I'd still like to get some touchup paint on it cause it would make it less visible for sure.

I'm not just a wax & polish type - for example, my Z06 Vette sees regular track duty, but because of the level of care I give it, you'd be hard pressed to see evidence.

I kinda want to keep my RR looking as new as possible for as long as possible.

Helps with resale too when that time comes.

Any ideas on color codes?

WEll, just a thought, but my buddy scratched his startor cover, and he decided to paint both sides black (he has a black bike). its SHARP!!!! I am actually going to do it also, I think. He just took off the fairings and masked the area off, and used the high heat paint from Home Depot. I think its a cool idea.

If you dont want to do that, I would just go look at the colors at Advanced. Maybe a Honda Color. I would just eye it up. Anything will be better than nothing. But personally, I like the black idea/

I found this on another forum, from a member who went on a quest to touch up his engine covers:

DupliColor Truck, Van and SUV Pewter T408 paint is very, very close to an exact match.

Thanks for the T408 Pewter tip!! That's what I was looking for.

Painting them high temp Black sounds very cool too!! I definitely like a lot of Black on my bike, but I'm not sure I'm willing to get away from a stock look just yet. Resale is my main reason.

Maybe just buying a new one on Ebay is the best ticket. I've been on there, but didn't see one. I'll have to look further.

Thanks to all. You guys are great!!

If you can provide that I would be MUCH obliged!!! I think that is what I want to do. Just replace it.
