Color Opinions?!?!

Okay, I bought an undertail that is going to need painted. My bike is red and black (went ahead and attached pic). Here's the deal, do I:

1. Pay like 100 dollars to get the R258 paint?
2. Try and match it the closest I can for like 30 dollars?
3. Paint it black, 5 dollars...my current stock undertail is black...will it look that bad?

Anyone have pics of the Supersport undertail on a red bike painted black? Or even red?

I would suggest trying to match the paint before I would paint it black. You can't go wrong either way, but if its a decent match, then it will look so much cleaner.

BTW: I bought the Hotbodies Racing undertail in silver, and even though it isn't an exact match, you can't tell. The undertail doesn't get as much light as the rest of the bike. The shadowing effect will mask a slight paint mismatch.

I wouldn't pay that much for paint, not if a skilled painter can come close to matching the color. That piece is always going to be at least a little dirty and will eventually have rock marks, etc. $100 to paint that area sounds like a lot.
