I know there's been 2 million threads about power commanders.
I'm an overall average rider... don't like to take too many risks and don't like to go too slow.
When my friends hit up the twisties, I'll join them but I won't push my bike 100% through the turns. I go fast enough to do a decent lean, but I know I can go faster and lean more... but i play it safe. When I'm on the freeway, I always follow speed limit, rarely ever go above it unless to pass someone or get out of the way. From a dead stop, I never accelerate too fast.
I convinced myself to not get a PC because I won't be taking advantage of all the benefits and I'll be wasting a good $350.
HOWEVER... a local f4i owner is selling his PC for $100. I know the PC smoothens out the throttle response, gets rid of the jerky response, and helps a bit on gas. For $100, I think I'm willing to buy it just for the minimum benefits I get. I won't be using the power or anything.
Should I pick it up? A brand new one $350+... no thanks... $100 for a used one... I'm really thinking about it.

I just put a PCIII Usb in my ride and had it professionally setup. What a difference! The bike is much smoother through its accelleration. It also took some the the fuel injection "jerk" out of the throttle response. It aided immensely in my throttle control through the corners.
Here is the downside. The dynojet maps are not very accurate. I highly recommend a dyno setup from a reputable shop. That is going to cost some money. Mine was $400 Canadian (about $350 American). My tuner picked me up 8 horse through the midrange over the dynojet map for my bike setup. He got me 3 HP in the topend over dynojet's map.
On the whole if you aren't really riding your bike past the level of a cruiser then you probably won't really see much benefit. If you are actually using the machine then I highly recommend the unit. It was the best $800 I spent on my ride thus far

The smoother throttle makes it worth in IMO. I could care less about power gains.

A pciii for $100. I'd jump on it. If you really don't feel a difference in the way the bike behaves, then just take it off and sell it. You'd probably get more than what you paid for it.

Ya Take it! If anything you can jack up the resale value of your bike with it.
