Coolant Flush

Just did a coolant flush and refilled with water-wetter and distilled water and man what a difference. The temp stays way down and even when it gets over 200 once you start rolling again it drops back down to 175-180 very fast. Anyone that hasnt done a coolant flush should do this for the summer its worth it. Just and FYI to those that didnt know.

never did one on a bike nor a car, you recommend taking it to a shop or just trying to do it myself?

Just remember that without some kind of glycol in the coolant system, you''ve lost corrosion resistance and the lubrication it provides for seals in the coolant stream.

There is no doubt that straight water is a more effective coolant than an antifreeze mix, but with every gain, there is a loss.

Definitely do it yourself. And yeah I know what you mean by the down side to it but I plan to flush again at the end of summer and got back to a mix of antifreeze and distilled water, but its so hot here already anything to run a little cooler is a win in my book.

Engine Ice is also great stuff. Thats what I run in my bike and it can be used with watter wetter

I had to check last year because I run it full time in my ZX-14.  It''s a PITA to access to change coolant in that bike and I have to run WW for trackdays.
