Does this picture show the correct way to assemble the F1's bar weight and end? The Honda parts diagram
at bikebandit.com isn't super helpful. (8) wraps around the weight (6) with the larger side towards the outside and the clip (9) goes around the large side of (8). I thought that typically bar ends are held in by tightening a screw which squeezes a bit of rubber to press the rubber against the inside of the bar. The F1 bar end seems to directly touch the weight metal-on-metal so the rubber does not get squeezed. Does the bar end rely on the friction between the rubber and bar to stay in?
I lost one bar end but that was because the thread in the weight was partially stripped. I bought a replacement OEM weight and I'd rather not lose another bar end.
I've seen a few F2s parked around town but haven't met to their owners to ask if I can look inside their bars. Looking at the outside doesn't answer my questions.
Thanks,
Tom

That is correct, the little tabs things clip into holes on the clip-on, then you tighten down the bar end, holding it while tightening so the inside weights don't spin. It may seem cheesy but it works pretty good. The end weight keeps the tabs from coming loose, once installed. It won't pop back out. Just make sure you get those two tabs on the clip in the holes on your clip-on handlebar.

Thanks honda502! I had felt around inside the bar and didn't see the holes. I looked again and it makes more sense.
