Crashed and burned on my 08 1000RR

Last night I was getting on a bender freeway ramp and there was an abstruction in the road mid-corner that I could not avoid, rear tire skipped out and me and the bike went for a long slide on the pavement. The rear rim was bent and almost ripped off the swing arm, my aftermarket exhaust is smashed and the mid pipe is crimped, the side faring is broke and scuffed, the wind deflector and front faring is broke, the tank cover and rear seat faring is trashed, swingarm is cracked on the non impact side, engine casing is worn down to nothing, right handle bar broke off and pegs are broke. Its a very sad day for me.

Sorry to hear that. Is the engine "casing" the cover or the block itself? Any frame damage?
On the upside, I''m pretty sure if your swingarm is toast and your engine block is damaged, that''s gotta be close to totaled.

Sorry to hear that you dumped your new bike but as long as you''re safe and with minor injuries, that''s all that matters. Good luck with everything and stay safe.

That really sucks but glad there''s minimal body damage. Honestly - I know I look like ghost rider out there (without the mad skills) but I''m always wearing full gear and stories like this remind me why. Could have been worse and I''m really glad it wasn''t.

Sorry for your loss.
What do you consider "full gear"? I''ve been down in full gear 2x and came out without road rash. 20-40mph range

Yes I have full coverage and the bike is fixed and back on the road. $3500 Damage. I got new Pilot Power 2CT''s and ignition module out of the deal. Bike is at the Dyno shop being tuned with PCIII and ignition module, pipe and BMC filter. Guy at the Dyno shop tuned one to 167HP with ignition module, PCIII and full exhaust, and thats on a E997 tuner, on Dynojet tuner that would be 170+.
