Sorry to hear the bad news Blue. You had one of the cleanest bikes on here....just like mine. Which I dumped BAD on Wednesday. I'm really f-d up though and the bike is smoked. I feel lucky even though I'm in sooo much pain (emotionally too from the bike being gone!), so you better count your blessings knowing that no oncoming traffic stopped you sooner than the slide did. Hopefully the bike will be as good as it was once it's repaired. Check out my thread about my wreck once you get a chance.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I woke up this morning wanting to take my bike down to the shop to get her checked out just to be safe, but I was incredibly sore, so I just stayed in bed. After a couple pain killers, I'm doing great now. The leg almost healed up immediately overnight (that's why it's great to have paramedics living at the house with you.). All I want to do now is work on my bike and get her back up to snuff.

About the frame sliders..............They're Lightning Performance Frame Sliders. They're a light plastic-ish material, which is the reason my bike didn't catch and start flipping or something. Funny thing is, I have a spare one too! The one thing I didn't like about these were the fact that they were made in a way that you drilled a small hole through the fairing to fit them through, then the puck got larger after the fairing. The only problem with that is that you couldn't pull the fairing off without taking off the slider. So oil changes are a b***h with these, but they worked, so I'm keeping them.

I also remember that when my dad knocked over my bike when I first got it with his truck, I had some rash on the tail in the same place (reason I have those black stripes on the tail). I might have to sand it all down and do it again.

I have come to a conclusion that if I was wearing riding pants (even a leather suit), that I would have walked away completely untouched with no soreness. My elbow that I skidded across doesn't hurt, because it was protected with leather and armor. So, when I get my little student loan to help me fix my car, I'm going to pull out a little more and buy myself a suit. And since I really do like Shift gear (because it's proved itself to me now) I'll probably end up going with a shift suit.

Anyway, thanks again to everyone for the condolences.

Blue Fox, I know what you mean about having leather for your legs. My bud would have been fine if he'd had leather on his legs. I purchased Icon shin guards immediately after I saw what happened to his legs. I couldn't afford leather, but I'm willing to bet that they'll help at least. I wish I could afford a set to go with my jacket.

Utterly amazing how you and your bike came out of that with as little damage as there is. As with my previous accident, the frame sliders deserve alot of credit.
Good job on the gear too.

Damn man, I;m sorry to hear about your accident, but I super glad to hear you are OK. +1 on te shift gear, Mine saved my life, and it was only the Mesh jacket. It looks just like your leather one, but the leather one has to be 100 times more durable.

Anyway, glad youre OK, your bike isn't bad at all, sucks about the rizomas.

No! Not you too?! Blue...extreme mechanism of injury, as medics would say from pics. You should send pics to the slider and jacket manufacturers. "Land of Enchantment" is, once again, an appropriate State Motto for us. Bike pics still award-winning. Really happy (Amazed) you are okay and making repairs. Every group ride should be so lucky as to have a medic on board! If you want keys to the park (White Sands), I can make some calls. I'll get down to 'Cruces soon, maybe you would assist me in my purchase of some sliders for my moto. Pace, Gris.

I rode 70 miles out there to take pictures, and damn-it, I wanted pictures. There was no way I was going home with a scraped up bike and nothing else.

That's just hilarious because it sounds just like something my brother or I would do in the exact same situation!! And if the other bike was the same model, I'd have switched out the plastics for the photo if needed!!

Thanks you sillynanny you! WTF is up with your siggy? LOL!

And just an update to all........WHERE THE F**K ARE ALL THE PERFECT, USED eBAY FAIRINGS WHEN YOU NEED THEM???? I could have had me a complete, scratch-free replacement set of red fairing for my bike a few months ago when this dude was selling them for like $200 total. I should have bought them when I had the chance. Now there's nothing.

............anyone want to get rid of a red, left, mid fairing, and rear cowl from an 05-06 600RR???????? Pretty please????

Yeah, I would have walked away 100% un-scratched if I were wearing the correct pants. But the new riding suit is coming, so I can't wait (and there went another $900 from my student loans that'll bit me in the ass in the future. )

Actually, I just went out to the garage and Honda Polished my bike (first time I've actually examined the damage on it.). It's not really that bad. The rash on the tail actually is in the same place as the black vinyls I put on there, so I'll just sand it down, and re-apply a new layer of vinyl..........takes care of that.

As for the mid fairing...........it really only has about a square-inch of rash......and even then, it only scuffed up the clear...........so a little buffing and that'll be taken care of. The ends of the factory vinyls are a little tattered.........but I'll just order new ones and apply those as well.........fixes that mess.

I have a spare frame slider for some odd reason.........takes care of that.

My custom "Raccoon Tail" fender eliminator is trash though (cracked and shattered a damn Rizoma!!!!)............I'll get a used factory rear fender from eBay and re-do the mod again........but this time............BETTER! ...........and with a NEW Rizoma (which will be the most expensive part.........$37 bucks.) I might even do the Watsens in the rear........don't know yet.

I'm impressed with how well those frame sliders worked.......VERY impressed.

All in all, not as bad as I thought it would be.

Thanks for the offer though.
