So, if you speak German please give us some insite as to why the hell these guys did this.  My best guess is that it was a repo or some drug runners car or something but honestly I have no idea.  At the end it looks like its in a museum or something.

A brand new porsche gets crushed into one of those car cubes... the narrarator sounds really depressed when he's talking about this... lol

Porsche (specifically the C4S) is my dream car.  It was as though I was watching my very dream being destroyed. I couldn't watch the whole thing.

I found this same video with another title beneath it that said

For the Porsche lover this will be a tough video to watch, these guys crush a brand new Porsche 997 Carrera S to use it for art.

i have one of our Reps here today and i showed him the video, he seems to think that the car was a test car, which means it has no Vin# meaning it cant be sold or displayed or anything so crushing it is about the only thing they could do with it.

haha I'd convince myself it wasn't sellable or displayable too just so I didn't have to deal with the cold hard truth!  if it didn't have a VIN why did it have plates?

My buddy had one of two of the only 1983 corvettes with the 48 valve motor made. Chevy sent them to the crusher because they were 'not right' or test mules. Chevy didn't make a 1983 vette. He happened to get the second one afterjust getting tapped by the crusher. It was fixed.

As far as crushing a Porsche like that, it is just a shame.

I speak German. It was indeed created as a sculpture. The creators were a group of artists from a particular Kunsthaus ("art house" ) which is kind of like an art museum but patroned by fraternities of artists and not necessarily concerned with history. Kindof between a museum and a gallery. They explained the meaning of the scultpure, which was rather esoteric and I am not sure I understand what they were getting at. It had to do with mortality, and that nothing is really permanent or absolute. The car was a constantly changine machine bound to a lifecycle of fluid flows, maintenance schedules, and driving usage. Basically crushing the car was a way of immortalizing the car by keeping it in a more or less permanent condition. At least that's my understanding of the final dialogue.

still, if we are getting esotheric and meaning full;

If you destroy the pourpose of the thing dont you destroy the vey soul of its creation? A sports car is created for one thing: going, and going fast. If you crush it you destroyed its meaning.

Just my opinion. this video lmost made me cry.

anyway thanks for the translation, just goes to show that when you have TOO MUCH MONEY things lake this becomes meaning less.

well to be fair, it's just as exilerating to see a fast car parked so to have one crushed and hence immobile you gain the ability to always see it and then you sort of gain an ownership of the vehicle because you can always depend on its location
