To Original Poster: Hope we answered or original question and that we didn't jack you thread
Tahoe: What's the deal w. you saying mang all the time. I had a buddy that used to do that in person, but I doubt you're him

Riding a single gear....hmmmm....interesting. I think I read something about that. So you just have to stay off the rev limiter in the straights? Is that how that smoothness drill works?

Sorry to give the headache, but I was trying to describe my concept of taking a turn. If my idea is wrong then of course execution will be all screwed up. That's what I though I'd get at my TD, but alas...I'm now thinking of selecting a school.

This has been an enlightening discussion for me.

Anyone: Can I take a set of springs and get them measured? My other set of forks didn't dive as much under braking. Both are set at "factory" settings. The new forks work good (OEM), but I would like to take some of the dive out w/o sacrificing bump absorption. I notice that WSBK racers' front ends dive under hard braking. I don't notice that as much in AMA. Different rules perhaps or different camerawork?

all forks will dive during braking...but the rate at which it dives is different...now if you had those guys brake hard with your forks...it's going to bottom up must faster than theirs and after that...you're looking at things like stoppies, locking up the front, etc...

i say mang to honor my brother in law, who says 'mang' all the time without knowing it mang! he is the king of 'meng' vernacular.

no your concept of going into the turn is fine...it's actually slowing myself down to think aobut every thing that i do that gave me the headache...but something like let chasis settle, etc...that's such a split second action that i don't really think about that.

do you have any of the twists of the wrists or anything like that? they are good stuff.

as far as running the same gear practice and the straights, don't worry too much about the straights as of yet...you can just coast through that...just focus on the turns.

i think you may have read the same gear thing in a post by someone on this board...he has a black bike...old something can't remember...
as far as your factory springs...i can tell you right now they are too soft. they may have felt better...eh? you could try other things like differnt oil weight but it won't get you much. save up for them springs mang!
