I left my ignition on while eating a long lunch. Now my battery is dead. Does anyone know a way to get it restarted so I can recharge the battery by going on a long ride?

stand next to the bike on the chain side, put the bike in second gear, turn on the key, put the kickstand up, pull in the clutch and grab the bars, run till you reach about 7 mph, jump on the bike, dump the clutch, give it some gas and ride off. then go ride around at 7-10,000 rpms for 10-20 minutes to charge the battery and you should be all good.

2nd gear? Any cool story behind that or is there some kind of trick I dont know? I've never done it on my F4i but my last bike had a dead battery for a week but I'd give her a good shove down hill and pop the clutch in 1st.

most people usually do 2nd gear.

If you want to avoid the jumping have a friend push it :P
2nd gear is smoother than 1st, and easier to make the momentum of the bike last just a little longer.
There's no need to rev to 10k rpm after. In fact that would be wasteful. A regulator on the battery charger kicks in to prevent overvoltage, so any extra rev beyond say 3k rpm is pretty much a waste.
