Hey what’s going on
I need some advice
I just purchased a 07 cbr 1000rr and I love it but a few days ago I started to encounter a wobble on my right turns (at about half way lean) I have no idea what this is I thought it wasn’t something to serious but I just saw a video of a guy eating it with something like this.
I am thinking of a speed wobble but like I said the bike is new it has 2500 miles
Could it be something I am doing or should I take it back to the dealer?
Thanks

It never happens in a straight line or while accelerating hard? Only when cornering?

btw, if that's you in the picture of your Avatar, and you're have this problem, and that's how you ride daily... gear up dude. it's one thing loosing skin because of something you did, it's anouther when it wasn't even your fault due to mechanical malfunction. at least one you can learn from, the other just happens.

hands hit first 80% of the time
Arms follow
Hips hit first 60% of the time
Legs follow
Elbows too.

A good jacket and some leather gloves is what you need. shouldn't cost more that $150.

And brush your teeth like mommy jerkpants said, clean up your room and make your bed, mmmmkay? Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Then take your bike back to the dealer and tell them exactly what's happening, which it should not be. I'm assuming they'll check your tires first so beat them to it and check the air pressure and make sure the little arrows on the wheel, tire, and brake disc are all pointing toward the forward direction of travel--there seems to be some trouble with this lately.

No thanks, I already put it in your boyfriend, and he said you're just a two-minute stroker that hangs out in General Tech like a vulture with nary a bit of friendly advice or precise information. Thanks again, though!

I've only seen you reply twice and i don't like you. i don't hang out here. I subscribe to a handful of sections on CBRF. New topics come to my inbox. He hasn't given us enough information to properly diagnose anything yet. Telling him something is taking a stab in the dark at best. It's important to know exactly when this happens and under what situations. otherwise you're just guessing.

so for the benefit of the OP, shut the hell up.

Yes, I have seen how much you care about the 'benefit of the original poster'.

That was for his benefit. Did i not suggest that bleeding the brakes was the correct step to take? I don't do friendly with stupid.

I say take it to the dealer and see if they can replicate the problem. While you are at the dealer, take Knight's advice and look into those gloves and stuff. You invested in a nice bike; invest in yourself and your well being.

Now KS and Spirit, you are both good, smart members and KS is right about the gear thing. I'm not saying that it was the topic to address the gear, but he's just trying to pass on the advice in the hope that someone will listen and save their skin. It has worked here before. We've had people realize that helmets are needed and saved lives. He's not always the nicest, but I understand how tiresome stupidity can become.

You're right Six, but inexperience does not equal stupidity, and denigrating someone for their lack of knowledge just makes them upset, it doesn't encourage them to do better. Put a little sugar on a reply before you ram it up their ass and tell them they'll just fvck it up.

like i said, i don't do nice with stupid. there is a difference between inexperienced, and stupid. screwing around with the primary brakes and not knowing what you're doing or how to do it properly, that's not inexperience. that's stupidity, and this kind of stupidity is going to kill. Darwin would be proud.

You both make good points. The dude with the brake problem not only did not complete the project but was unaware of what to do. Brakes are really important and if it takes making him look like an idiot to make him understand how important his decisions regarding maintenance and knowing what you are getting into are.... so be it. If he didn't do it right, he could wind up dead somewhere. On the other hand, I understand finesse and that it is hard to keep things in that you know could hurt someone. I have a very hard time with finesse and niceties in 'how fast' threads.

Okay, if you guys say so. I'll give it a shot.

Hey methpipe, I can't fvcking believe I'm looking at your avatar and you HAVE NO GLOVES OR BOOTS. WTF are you thinking? You just said you have a wobble in your steering and your dumb ass is still riding practically naked? WTF? Sure, your bike may not crash yet, but when it does, your ignorant block will bounce hard like a rock as you shave every piece of skin off your hairless body except your head--at least you're wearing a helmet for christ's sake, you didn't fvck that up! Better yet, just don't wear anything at all, so when you wrap your bike and your face around a pole, natural selection will have done its job. Dick.

There. How was that? I'm sure mexpipe is aching to make me feel better by running out and buying Dainese from hair to toe tip. Get real. One in ten riders wear more than what he's already got, if that. He's not a squid and you're fvcking chewing him like sushi. Dick.

No way.

And for the record, my total posts here in your nest is 24, not 2.

He looks geared up to me.  I don't consider it a crime or stupid to ride without boots or leather pants for everday driving.  Hell I don't wear a jacket to school and put on some crappy shorties that are worthless.  I even ride in shorts and a tshirt.

I'd check tire pressure and take it to the dealer if nothing popped up.

My F4i doesn't ever wobble, your RR shouldn't, take it to the dealer, I ride my buddies 05 1KRR once in a while and it really does feel stable all the time (more than the F4i does), it sounds like something is wrong. I am not sure why everyone is talking about brakes either, if you are leaned over, you should be on the gas, not the brakes and definitely not the front brake.

Anyway, take it to the dealer, the RR is awesome and it should feel that way. Let us know the outcome.

And on another note I'd like to see Knightslugger and SpiritRR go at it in the octagon. My guess is one of you weighs about 140 pounds wet and it would be a bloodbath.

Yeah, but the 140 pounder has been training to be a cage fighter with Rex-quan-do.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you get a wobble to one side only, then there may be something going on with your forks. One may be way out of adjustment or low on fluid. Have the dealer take a look.

I would bet you're still in warrantee on the thing... take it back and make them fix it... it's why you've got the warantee in the first place!

I will make sure I word my questions better next time and change my avatar so I don’t start a fight about where my foot is on the footpeg
