I currently have a Springfield XD9...I mainly bought it for target at the range cuz a few of my friends were hanging out there and it was somethin' to do. Although I havent thought about it for sometime now...I was actualy thinking of getting some tiny lil snub 22 or something like that to cary on occasions where I would feel a little better if I had something on me. Anyone have something like that and are they worth the 3-$500 I immagine they cost? Are they worth carrying or U think a pellet gun would have the same effect with less trouble with the law?

I'd never carry a gun on a bike, not only is it going to break your ribs or worse in a crash but I can't see of a situation where I'd need it. I'm not stupid enough to go tooling around the ghetto so I can get robbed (and I'd carry a knife if I was worried about that) and in a traffic confrontation, just taking off is always going to give you the best results.
lol i dont know where you live, but out here, violent crime is about average with other big cities, the difference is almost every one of them results in murder with a firearm. you get shot in the face just so you dont put up a fight while they take your money (just happened last week to one of club dj's) now it may be a little extreme out here in the murder capital, but regardless, if im riding in new orleans, im giving myself the means to protect my life if need be.

I don't need a gun if someone shoots at me I'll just out run the bullet on my RR.

Super RR...Faster than a Speeding Bullet....probably not but really hard target to hit after 7k rpm....as for carrying...only occasionally and always concealed (CCW License AZ); and becoming less likely to...can't stop into a bar for a cold one after that long ride with your pistol on, and no place to secure it on the RR.....and hard saddle bags are just wrong....as for a good place to carry it....try a belt holster or paddle and carry it in the back...never had and problems with that.

When was the last time you were in a gun fight?
Personally? Never. Had a few "friends" get mixed up in that mess but not me. Had a gun pulled on me in high school (13 years ago) and it wasn't the coziest feeling in the world lemme tell ya! And seeing as though Saginaw isn't Munchkin Land (15 murders in the first three months this year), I feel a little safer keeping my piece in my truck or in a holster. If I end up on the wrong end of a bullet... at least I gave myself a chance. Maybe.
EDDIE1000RR - Well I honestly think that if you're gonna carry a gun, I would stay away from anything smaller than a 9mm. A .22 will only do damage at a close range and a pellet gun ain't gonna do anything besides make someone even more mad!! If you want something smallish, look at the snub .38 specials. They pack power and they're loud - still need close range though.
My $0.02.

LMAO! U know, I had forgotten this, but I once tried that and it didnt work. Fortunately, I was able to catch it in my teeth, I then spit it out, tossed it on a prcise area of my rear tire as I was going about 250-260 and it flew straight up in the air and landed on the assailant, killing him dead.
Watching McGyver all those years paid off! He rocks

SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT WEARING YOUR FULL FACE HELMET EDDIE - but good job on catching that bullet. I also tried that once and it knocked out a front tooth. But it has since been replaced by a newer, stronger, platinum tooth so it doesn't happen again!

Don't you just hate it when carrying a pistol gets in the way of DRINKING and RIDING? Talk about a

And I thought it is only us South Africans that need to carry a gun! Well not always, but when we ride alone it not a bad idea to have a weapon of some sort close at hand. I find my snub nose .38 quite comfortable on an anckle holster but I do however prefer to carry my CZ75 on a hip holster under my jacket. This however makes it somewhat slow to get to if needed in a hurry.
