I wave at everything, but thats because I''m a lunatic riding motorcycle, sometimes I''ll just nod, but I won''t/don''t differentiate between someones choice of two/three wheels. A lot of folks out their on scoots or tiny bikes are are potential bike enthusiasts. I''ve found that there are two types of riders. Those that try riding for awhile & give it away because they don''t like it & those like you & me they get the bug & keep riding & the comradere that goes with riding is a great, great thing, & waving to a fellow biker is the acknowledgement of it. I''ve had many a converstion with Cops on bikes (& sometimes I was not even being booked) & many of them have admitted to joining the force just so they could ride bikes & get paid for doing it. As for Harley riders, I don''t give a rats if they wave back or not, some do, most won''t even bother to make eye contact (to scared to look sideways I guess), but I''ve had that reponse from Ducati & BMW owners as well.

I usually wave at everyone (rockets or ''ruisers).  Most of the time though, those damn scooters look like sportbikes when they''re coming straight on and you feel like a ''tard when they hold their hand up high with that Ms. America wave and yell "hi bud-dy!"

Hah, the last scooter I passed I gave the finger to. Now, in my defense, I thought it was one of my friends on his sister''s scooter, but as it turns out, it was just some dude. Oh well.

I wave at all sportbikes, and if scooters wave, I give them the nod.  I live in the Milwaukee area and we have sooooo many Harley douche bags around here, and none of them wave, so I dont even acknowledge them.

I''ve noticed down here in ATL most of the emo R-tard millionaire college kids riding the scooty puff juniors aren''t paying attention when you wave so they don''t notice if you wave or not

harley guys are almost 100% of the time a$sholes towards sport bikes.

you will on occasion find a couple really cool ones though

This statement above kinds sounds like: "60 percent of the time, It works EVERYTIME."..... I do wave to all and get a lot of waves back from everyone.

I stopped waving while I was riding in Virginia because everyone else on the road wouldn''''t wave back. It really makes you feel like a jacka$$ when you pass a line of bikes and not one returns the gesture. That was happening for a couple of weeks until I decided it wasn''''t worth it. Now I only do it when the other guy(or girl) waves first.

You definitely have been to VA. I hate when the do that. I will normally only wave to guys on the sportbikes and/or people that do it first. Harley riders dont normally respond. When scooter guys do it.....its just funny. I laugh and throw it back.

I dont know what side of atlanta''s bike night your chillin at but last time i saw a scooter gang at the vortex they were pretty hard...i dont know many sport bikes that can ride past the atl popo''s on their back wheel and get nothing more then a wave from the cop...now not everyone on a scooter is as hard as all that...but uhh yea they''ve all got my respect...just as much danger on one of them, but no power to get out of the way, they have bigger balls then me

I wave to anyone on two wheels. Saying things like "I don''t wave to scooters" is EXACTLY THE SAME as the Harley guys saying "I don''t wave to sportbikers". And just about everyone on here is in consensus that most of the HD guys are jackasses because they don''t wave to us.......so isn''t it hypocritical of us to do the same to scooters?

Just wave, who gives a flying f**k what they''re on! At least they''re riding.

Blue Fox is totally correct, I agree.

This is the kind of thinking that''s equivalent to saying "I''m better than you because of the color of my skin, my religion, my income, my family status, or my education."  (I don''t care if it''s ATL, DC, Baltimore, NYC, SanFran, L.A. or whatever)  We''re all 2-wheel riders so why not be decent to each other ?  Maybe that person cannot afford a big expensive / fast bike.  I worked 2 jobs for 7 years to get my bikes, but that doesn''t make me better than other people.

I try to wave at everyone, and I''ve gotten plenty of Harley riders to wave back, plenty of cruiser riders, and other sportbikes, as well as dual-sport and scooter guys.  There are some inexperienced BMW riders and (various other manufacturer''s) touring bikes with (or without) their wife / girlfriend on the back who don''t wave back, simply too scared or inexperienced to take hands off the bars, and that''s fine.  There are a few local (yuppie-pretending-to-be-badass) Victory & Big Dog riders who never wave to anyone, well piss on ''em, I''m not wasting another wave for them.  I try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks Mordeth (or however you spell his name), for letting me know I am waving wrong.  I like to drop the duece (not poop my pants...there are two exclusive defenitions...I think).  When I ride on the freeway, I will make sure to thrust my open palmed hand straight in the air while doing eighty, because there is no way it will compromise the aerodynamic slipstream that I enjoy everyday on my motorcycle (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

The only problem I have with waving at scoots is, I see them as a viable means of transportation, but they don''t invest as much as we do...or a cruiser, for that matter.  Yes, you can ride a unicycle, and get run over by Claire who is bringing orange wedges to the soccer team, but there is absolutely less risk involved.  A person on a scooter is going to ride in traffic at 35 mph (do your own conversion for metric), not ride in the twisties, or have an epic adventure for hundreds of miles, or spend as much money as us, or consider it a "lifestyle", or even drop the cabbage for good protective gear (I see more flip flops, t-shirts, and shorts on scooter riders that squids).  Of course, there are always exceptions.  Reading my own post, maybe I have less respect for those who ride with less to lose.  I could be dead wrong...as we can all be dead when we ride.  I don''t think I am a dick, but if I have a choice, I would not wave to a person on a scooter before I would wave to any other rider.

I beg to differ

650cc''''s will do 80mph without breathing hard and the rider of it said it would do 120. And I took that pic on top of 129 in Ga on whats known as the Loop lol. Do they sound so wimpy now??

oh BTW the rider had full leathers on too.

my uncle is a big harley dude, and when he rides he flips off other harley guys but will wave to sportbikes. lol! but he''s a cool biker. him and the guys he rides will would stop on the side of the road to help a sportbike out any day. 2 wheels are 2 wheels man. i treat everyone equal. i wave to everyone. life is short(as red said on page 1). being nice pays off in the long run.

I wave to every two wheels. If they don''t wave big deal. Sometime they are just starting out or turning its hard to wave at this time. My wife has a scooter and it fun when I ride it around. I''m not like some people that have big heads that they are to good to wave to them.
