Hey guys...well the day I thought would never come has came.  I dumped my bike last night maybe going 15-20 mph.  I had just started it up...tires were cold, and it was about 8:45pm.  The roads were a little "sweaty" from the cold weather and I guess my rear tire fishtailed, while I was making a left turn.  I'm still not sure how it happened exactly, I think I high sided...all I know is that I slid headfirst on my left side, more specifically my left side of my neck/helmet.  My bike is beaten up, I was totally fine.  Somehow the left side of the front cowl cracked and it took out the left side of my windshield, but the bike slid on it's ride side.  The entire left side is fine except for the very top tip of the front cowl.  The right side mid-fairing, stator cover, right side of the front cowl and the right front blinker are all scratched up and the throttle side bar end snapped.  The bike is ridable, I rode it back a half mile to my place.  Anyway, my real question to all of you is whether I can claim this as a comprehensive claim with my insurance.  I have allstate and pay about 2/3 of my total premium for the comprehensive - excluding collision coverage.  Otherwise, replacing the fairings, windshield, blinker, etc...is goin to get quite expensive.  They are closed Sat and Sun so I figured I shoot a question out to anyone who has experience with this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks everyone!

It was my understanding that comprehensive was for things outside of your control....theft, fire, etc....i think that would be considered a collision.

But i'm not sure.

I also agree, thats why you spend the extra ten bucks and get collision

Isolated is right, and its not even close to an 'extra ten bucks' for collision.  Theyre separate things and collision is expensive, especially depending on your situation.

maybe it was just mine, it was 50 for comprehensive and 63 for both collision and comprehensive. I have state farm so I dont know how other places work
