Well when i was out riding the little computer box fell out. pulled all the wires out of the grey clip and was a mess..i got a wiring diagram and me n a buddy spent an hour or so making sur every thing was wired up right.. all looked good. this time when i turned the key the fuel pump did prime (it wouldnt before) and then i tried to start it. it sounded like it wanted to. but nothing. checked it again. and after a few days. still nothing. i checked the BAS fuse and all other fuses and they are perfect. could this have done something to the sensor up in the nose fairing? im about ready to take it to the stealership and let them fix it..but ill see if anyone here has some ideas first. thanks!

so the wires came out of the connectors with the pin and you put them back into the harness?
did you measure each wire from the harness side to make sure it truly is connected in the harness?

yep..follwed the diagram around the bike 100% and everything seems to be connected. and in the right spot. went over it about 20 times.

did you drop the bike or anything like that after this happend?

if the fuel pump doesn't prime, the bike won't start.

you can try bypassing the bank angle sensor.

When i lowsided hard, everything in my battery tray fell out (battery, ecu, seat, etc.) i put them back in and the bike fired up fine amazingly.  What caused your bike to drop out the ecu?

no, bike stayed up. the fuel pump does prime. but it didnt with the wires out(obviously)

i was hoping i wouldnt have to take off the front fairing..its a pain on my bike. oh well. worth a shot.

poor positioning on my part.. didn secure it down. was hitting the twisties. doing some wheelies on the straighs..probably moved it around to much and it just fell out. i hope i dont need a new computer.

Are you getting spark? If you are getting fuel check to see if you are getting spark.

check if the battery is putting out enough power.

+1 battery must be dead. esp after a fall

batt. is fine. i put the charger on and nothing and let it set..it cranks just fine. and sounts like it wants to fire..but it just wont turn over..unless the batt. could be bad. i guess i could try replacing it.

well i have it torn down to the carbs now and i dont see ONE THING that could be causing this..all wire harnesses are in tact. and i dont know what to do.

Two questions..

1. Is the fuel pump priming when you turn the engine on?

2. Are you sure your F4i has carbs?

he said it is priming...so it's not fuel, it's definitely not air, so that leaves spark.

now time to check for spark.

had my moms friend (motorcycle mechanic) come to the house. he said the computer is more thn likely done for. he said that falling out isnt going to affect spark, batt. ETC. so i guess ill look for a computer and try it out. 11:00 pm. time to go put it back together..this should go well considering i just took 3 vicodin  it will be interesting none the less..

well...you didn''t bother looking for spark didn''t you?
it''s cranking, fuel''s going, but something isn''t lighting up the plugs.
a new ecu ''may'' solve your problem, but if the problem lies in the harness then you just wasted your money.

the mechanic said

"the computer fell out, your problem is right there. if everything else worked before there is no reason a computer coming out would make it fail"  igot one for $100.00 shipped. and if it doesnt work ill put it back up on ebay and get my money back.

HTF did the ecu ''fall out''? its pose to be under the seat on top of the battery?
