empty gas tank

trying to empty gas tank with fuel lines off using the petcock but no gas will drain out what am i doing wrong.

you may need to open up the fuel filler cap. this will creat a vacuum and allow the fuel to flow out.

My 94 1000F needs vaccum on the petcock to drain fuel, I used a brake bleeder to apply vaccum and it flows just fine.

fire fighter is correct. if the petcock is vacuum actuated, the valve inside wont allow fuel to flow unless there is a vacuum. there are two lines, correct? generally, the smaller of the two line is the vacuum line. if you suck on that (to create a vacuum) i'll bet you a case of your fav. that fuel will flow out the other tube.
