Hi guys. Haven't been here for a while. Spent the summer riding the new bike as much as I could, I did 7700km (I was hoping for 10K but I have been working too much). My bike came with the Pirellis Diablo Corsa but these are discontinued. I really loved them. The only thing that really scared me is that one morning, I went for a ride and they were perfectly fine, and I came back from the twisties at lunch time and the steel was sticking out of the center, while the sides are still in a pretty good shape despite not having chicken strips...
Anyway, I am considering both the Dual compound Pirellis or the Pilot 2CT. I will try the 190/55 format, as I love the twisties. I was wondering if some of you had the opportunity to ride on both, which one you preferred and why? Also, what kind of mileage have you been able to do with a set?
Thanks for the feedback. And for the lucky ones who can ride over the winter months, well... ENJOY!!

WOW! You got 7700km off of that back tire? That's 4,784.5 miles for those of you that do not know the conversion scale... I only got about 3,000 mile (4828km) from my corsa's... I use Avon Tyres... I like the way they handle in the turns, they really hug. That's my choice and they are a great tire for the money!

I just put the CorsaIII on the rear (still use Corsa for front) and while not yet having it at the track, it seems pretty good. Supposedly the same as Corsa on with softer sides. I agree, the chords suck and it happened to me and my brother in the same weekend, same bikes, same tires...........same problem, chords out of nowhere. THAT is the only sucky part.
Otherwise these tires hold at the track SO nice. I'll handle the chords popping up on the street for that level of grip at the track.
The Dunlop Q's were pretty good too I must say and wore better (no chords out of no where) but ultimate grip seemed down exiting the corners hunkered over and on the gas compared to the Corsa. (Or maybe I'm a hamfist?)
The PP's work great on my wifes R6 but on a friends R1 they wilted with some abuse at track pace. The PP2CT may be a little more suited to track duty/HARD street riding.
I like the Corsa so will run that until they die again........after that I'm just not sure what to use.......probably he Corsa III again.

Thanks for your replies!
Bazook, I was surprized too with the mileage. In fact, if it was not for the bridge (over 1km) that I cross to go to the States, I think I would have seen 9000km. The bridge has no asphalt on it but metallic truss, instead. It is so sharp that it litterally shred your tires. I could not believe it!!
But there are many factors I believe, that explain the high mileage I have made.
1-I did not do any track days this year;
2-I am not pulling wheelies;
3-I am not accelerating like there is no tomorrow every time I take off (which really wears your center);
4-I ran at around 40 - 42 psi in my tires, as recommended on the bike. It allows the tires to run a little bit cooler than if I ran with lower psi. That is why I was so impressed with the Diablo Corsas. Even with 40-42 psi., they are very sticky and never let me down.
5- Most of my mileage have been done very early and very late in the season, which means cooler temperatures, asphalt, etc. Plus, I am in Canada, so it is definitely cooler than southern American States for sure (where are you located?).
Keep the feedback coming for Michelin Pilot 2CT and Pirelli Diablo Corsa III

I guess it is a matter of personal tastes. I have owned many new bikes, and I have to admit that these were the best STOCK tires I have experienced so far. I also remember liking the Dunlop D207s when I had a Gixxer 750, but not as much as the Corsas.
Thanks for your feedback Twistedmetal, which ones have you preferred between the 2CT or the Diablo Corsa III and why? My choice is pretty much narrowed down to these two.

my 06 came with the bridgeston bt 015 tires which i had never heard of. they stick ok from what i have ridden on them(just got the bike new in mid oct.) i have about 900 miles on it. they are ok? in the rain not as good as others i have run. they felt good in the twisties. will see how they hold up for miles. i have a track day planned in mid summer. i am thinking of going with the pilot powers, or a 2ct for the track day?
