F1 and oil light

Guys can anyone help me please.
I have what I believed was my oil light flashing a couple of days ago. Now a mate says the red light directly above the "oil can" on the speedo is actually a fault light and the oil can itself is the oil light. Maybe aI have a blown buld because the can does not light even with the ignition on but not running. If the other light is a fault light it coule be because it has a power commander fitted. But just want to check should the can light up as well with the ignition on ?

I'm not up to speed with the F1's dash lights..... try asking in the F1 section.
