Alright, how big of a difference is the seating position on these 3 bikes. I sat on an 06 F4i and found it to be very comfortable. (I am 6'6", 34" inseam and weigh 230). I do not want to buy a brand new bike because I just plan to re-sell it in 3 years or so after I get out of college.
Before any of you old fuddy duddies try telling me an F4i is too much bike, I have ridden on the street a little, but am young and care about looks.
I like the early F4i's because they do not have the fugly banana seat, but the model I sat on was a banana seat so I am concerned it has a very different position than the older non banana's. And I threw in the F4 because if they are anything like the newer F4i's in position and are more comfortable than an early F4i that is what I will concintrate on finding because I cannot afford a newer F4i.

For someone your size, the F4i is more likely to be too little bike rather than too much.

all kidden aside!! just get what's comfy, are you new to street's?? like do have experience??? you did not say what you have under the belt as far as street riding, if yer new to the street bike thing start on the 600, it'll haul you around, your a little bigger than me, 6' 225lbs and i have 93 f-2 and i don't have a problem

I'm not sure if I'll help any but I'm about 6' 180 and I have an 05 F4i. I rode it for a while with the banana seat and just like you, I wasn't too pleased with the looks. I ended up swapping out the tail section for the 01-03 model with the split seats. Although I haven't ridden long trips with the new set up, I can already tell that it sits a little bit more aggressive. I wouldn't say it's as aggressive as the RR but a little bit more sporty than the banana seat. I feel just as comfortable on the two separate seats as the banana seat. I'm a little bit more upright but nothing too drastic.
