Frame Sliders..Installed?

How much should i expect to pay to have some frame sliders installed from a local shop? just wanna get a ball park estimate since there is body work involved. thanks!

but do you really wanna pay for somethin as trivial as installing frame sliders

all you need is locktite, allen keys and/or a screwdriver

I wish I would've paid someone cuz now I messed up the holes on my fairing and have to get them replaced. I went to one shop and they wanted like $120 for the install. That's better than $500+ for new fairings.

look for the topic that has a step-by-step guide on installing frame slider..then decide if u want to take it to a shop??

it's hard to mess up the install using a laser level..... 70-80 for the sliders and 120 to install them.... kinda on the high side. Let me know if you want to do it yourself and I can PM with you and give you tips. I'm going out to ride in this beautiful 40 degree weather we're having, but I'll be back after 5pm or so.

thanks for the responses guys..i thought it was going to be about $100 for everything but, Wow i guess its gonna be more huh? im going to check with the dealer i bought my bike from and then ask around other shops..thanks anyhow

Real men don't take their bikes to the shop to install frame sliders (or oil changes)

haha, nice fretless...i agree, you can do it man, i did mine and ya its gonna scare the crap out of you when you get the hole saw out...but you can do it, just take your time and measure things right...if you need help pm me i can give you some good tips on how i did mine to ensure a perfect fit

I 2nd fretless' comment, do it yourself and get to know your bike. Just make sure to take your time and make it fun. When ever I think about paying for labor I always compare the cost of labor to what I could buy with the money, like the special tools to do the job myself if I don't already own them yet. By the way I have a pretty extensive set of tools using this rule over the years.

For the money you will save doing it yourself you can easily afford to buy the shop manual for your bike that will explain how to at least get the plastics off and many other maintenance tasks the you will need to do in the future. Along with the shop manual and the very detailed write ups on this forum you can figure it out.

Remember more then half the battle in doing your own maintenance is having the confidence to start the job. And as for patas75, as they say, "Education is expensive".
