So I FINALLY got my bike inspected and she is street legals. Ive been riding ever time im not working and i love it!!! anywho I have run into an issue. Its a real pain in the @$$ to open the garage door, take the bike out, walk back into the garage, close the door, and walk back around to the bike. What do you guys do? I dont have an extra remote thingy, plus they are pretty bulky so im not sure what i would do with it on the bike anyway. I went to the local carquest to see if they have any "universal" programmable garage door remotes and they didnt. I found some on ebay -
Here - I think that would work, but i was wondering if anyone else had and better ideas?

My garage door opener lives in my riding jacket pocket. When ever I am riding in I just squeeze it without taking it out.
Works awesome

Thats exactly what I do and it works great. Eventually when I get my F4i I want to hook up a remote like what OldFatGuy did except I think it would be nice to hook up the remote to the horn some how so when you press the horn it would opreate the garage door opener as well. The only problem is if you need to honk when you are near the house. The jacket thing is much easier, one I get near my house I just press the button and the door opens. The only real problem I see is the opener bieng damaged since I throw my jacket on the floor all the time.

Yeah man, just put it in your jacket.
I have same opener as was shown in that installation, but I just keep it on the keyring, way easier..

I actually keep 2 garage door openers in my jacket pockets. One for my place, and one for my dad's house, where I occasionally store my bike, in his garage. It would be nice to have the button on the clip ons or a similarly convenient location, but it's not that bad to push my pockets.

This is what Idid 30$ home depot chamberlain programable key fob, velcro was included. I would gess other manufacturers offer a similar product.
And it's in cool camo so you can't even tell it's there.

I integrated an opener like others, but I included an LED to tell me when I press it and I also didn't destroy the circuit board. I mounted it on the black plastic above the side fairings....it's a black button and looks like it belongs there. If I can, I will post a picture of where I mounted it. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures during install, but if you like how I did it, I can do a mini write up explaining what I did. I will try to post the pics tonight.
Where I put it, I can just slide my hand off the brake and hit the button with my thumb. It looks real slick and cost me all of $8 or so. It's also nice in that I kept the whole remote with battery so I am not reliant on my bike battery. Also, because it's not tethered to the battery, I can remove just that plastic piece and the whole assembly comes with it. Further, I put plugs on the end of the LED and the switch so if and when I move, it's just a matter of re-wiring a new opener and plugging it into the switch and LED. The opener is mounted with velcro under the plastic so it's completely protected from water which kept me from having to "waterproof" the whole thing. All-in-all it turned out pretty sweet and works like a charm.
