Now I can ride my ass off and not get lost up in the twistys. It's the Mio C310X. If you need a GPS check this one out. It has an MP3 player too, and can be unlocked and used like any other Windows Ce 4.2 device including watching movies etc. Has s 2 GByte SD slot and a gig onboard.

That thing looks bitchin'! Did you make a mount or did it come with one?

I used part of the car mount, and mounted that to the front tank cover pin lock for the GPR damper. I'll grab some better pics tomorrow in daylight.

The way I did it the GPS stays in place above the tank cover and doesn't turn with the bars.

Nice!  Do you know if it has a feature where you can record the route you're taking and save it to recall in the future?

Stomper grip pads, they ROCK! I got them from sprengineering.com

These are the snake skin texture and they can be removed and re-used multiple times.

Thanks. I definitely like the way those look over those goofy clear knobby ones.

might just be me, but i couldnt handle it being on the tree's like that - i would need it more angled by the cluster. I been looking at archo's for a rear-view camera and recorder but I can't see myself looking down at my tank everytime and again. I like the thinking tho Thex. Cant wait to start modding the crap out of my bike

The SPR Engineering website is pretty sparse.  Did you call them to get the traction pads for your tank?

I have the same one and I love it! I waited all night on "Black Friday" (day after Thanksgiving) to get it for $150. I have seen them in the $250 range also. You can't buy a better one for the price! The only downside is that the buttons on the touch screen are a little small.

It has a POI (points of interest) or Favorites so if you find a road you like, add it to your POI and you can go there again anythime you want. Heck, it will even tell you the speed limit on the highway and you can even set it to warn you if you are going too fast - that would just be annoying to hear that all the time on the bike though :)

TheX- How do you unlock it to watch movies?

Nice, I use a Garmin IQ3600 mounted just above the speedo.

I run in 800ft mode which allows me to view only the road I am on, giving me the ability to see the turns ahead of me almost in real time.

The Garmin unit running in the 800ft mode keeps just ahead of me in the twisties and changes from turn to turn in a blink of an eye.  I love it !!!!

The only time I have problems with GPS reception is in a heavy forest with a dense canopy and then the IQ3600 will zoom out to 1 mile view mode and then I have to slow down a little.

Another thing, I had my unit mounted on the left side of the handle bar in the past, but I kept catching my self looking at the GPS going into a corner and not the road...

So I moved it to the speedo area to keep my self looking forward and not at my clutch lever.
